If we did buy Otamendi, what would people think of loaning Denayer to Everton?

I'm assuming they'll eventually give in and sell Stones, leaving them with only 1 CB. We haven't always got on as clubs, I'm not sure how much bad blood there still is, but it would be a good place to loan him. Decent footballing side, we'd see him play every week in the PL as well.

Telling you this is the media stirring this up so they can claim the rags beat us to him when he signs for them.

they are just saying whats in the mirror ... translated

Nicolas Otamendi continues scanning the horizon hoping to decipher what their future, but what is clear is that it will be in Manchester. Doubt is the color of the shirt you wear, whether blue or red Manchester City Manchester United. So far, the Red Devils were more and better who had approached the Argentine defense, but in recent times has gained strength Manchester City, who had been crouching throughout the summer and is now ready to launch an offensive.

The Citizens are immersed in the operation to close the signing of Kevin De Bruyne and once successfully conclude the transfer, it will trigger the page and Otamendi plan. So says the Daily Mirror, who confirmed that Manchester City is very interested in taking the services of Argentine center of Valencia CF and are able to meet the economic demands of the Mestalla club.

Manchester City made an offer of 47 million pounds by Kevin De Bruyne on Monday, so it is clear that at the Etihad Stadium would have trouble reaching the figure of 50 million required by Valencia CF to grant freedom Nicolas Otamendi.

From the outset, the Valencia CF has been clear on the price of Otamendi and everyone who has asked about the situation of the Argentine Central you were directed to the clause, amounting to 50 million euros. Thus, the Manchester City knows that if his next step is to close the signing of Nicolas Otamendi must pay the amount demanded by the Valencia CF Mestalla because you do not negotiate.

In their paper, the Daily Mirror says that Manchester City had prioritized reinforce other lines before thinking about defense, but after the signing of De Bruyne's time to invest in the rear. Otamendi is an admired player in the Etihad Stadium and with which the Citizens expect to have for next year.

I dont think we want or need him. Kompany, Mangala, Demichelis and Denayer are all more than good enough.

What a pathetic overreaction to signing a fantastic CB.
are you joking? he may be good but who is he going to replace? 30 million defender who is young? our captain? or are we going to do what we always do and send a fantastically talented young defender in Denayer packing?

Prioritys are CM, LB not buying every player thats available

couldn't describe how disappointed with this signing i would be if it happened

Agreed.....he is quality but surely one center back would have to go .....

He is a decent player and would make us stronger but it does cause a whole bunch of issues in the sqaud. Mangala is looking like he is slowly comming on, he's a beast deffensivley and if he can bring the rest of his game up a notch or two he could be one of the best in the world. Then you have Denayer who is an awsome prospect and the best thing to come out of our accademy since Richards. Even if we were to let MDM go it would hold back the other younger players we have. Pros and cons with this potential signing.

How about the CB that turns 35 in December?

Slightly off topic but was anyone else a bit fearful for the future of Denayer when the team was announced on Monday night?

It was the first time it had dawned on me that Kompany and Mangala seem almost undroppable due to one being the captain and the other being a £30m+ defensive signing who we almost need to prove was a good investment. That leaves Denayer as at best 3rd choice CB for the season, and as things transpired, MDM came on in a midfield role so potentially will get more minutes this season.

I got a sinking feeling that he could want out soon if he doesn't get minutes, especially after being such a key member of Celtic's first team last year.
