Attacks in Paris

I know. Someone mentioned repurchasing them from the USAF and India. I'm merely a mouthpiece for Wikipedia and so don't ask me!

Fuck me so that could be our armed forces? Some second or third hand planes that we once retired bought or leased back like an old Cortina?? It beggars belief. Have they retired that Vulcan and Lancaster this year so they can undergo refits to spearhead our bombing attack in Syria? We must be about 6 months away from the reformation of the Women's Auxilliary Balloon Corps - yep I feel confident my Govt is defending the realm.

Religious affiliation on a World wide scale, when compared to religious affiliation within the UK, seem to be on very different trends. According to the Pew Research Facility the religiously unaffiliated - referring to atheists, agnostics and other people who do not identify with a religion - are declining as a share of the world's overall population. However they also attest that, by 2100, it's distinctly possible that those who consider themselves to have no religion will outnumber the religious in the UK. In 2010 64.3% of UK residents were Christian, 4.8% Muslim and 1.4% Hindu, with 27.8% non-religious. By 2050 Pew estimates both Hindu and Muslim numbers will increase, to 2% and 11.3% respectively, however Christianity will decrease to 45.4%. Non-religious will increase to 38.9%. In fact, Europe as a whole, is expected to see a decrease, by something in the region of 100,000,000, of Christians by 2050. The Worldwide increase in religious affiliation by 2050 is attributed to the rampant growth in numbers of Muslims, facilitated by high birth rates, and high populations, in areas of high Muslim affiliation, such as western and northern Africa, the middle east, and the "stans" area of Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan etc etc).

So, to summarise, overall religious numbers are on an upward trend, however this is primarily down to growth in the number of Muslims, predominantly in the 3rd World. The western world is seeing a decrease in the numbers of Christians, and an increase in the numbers of non-religious. It's entirely possible that, in 100 or so years time we'll see a western world which is more than 50% non-religious, and a third world which is 90%+ religious, with the vast majority being Muslim.
How can, say, one billion Hindus equate to 2%?

Can we borrow a few old Zeppelins from a German war museum?

don't worry, the RAF still has the tornado to do the fighting, and of course the eurofighter to do acrobatic displays over Damascus for winning hearts and minds. Hopefully it will just be a case of dropping a few tons of 'freedom and democracy' on the baddies and we can all live happily ever after

Yep we are so lucky to be flying Tornado fighters that were supposed to be withdrawn from service in March 2014.

I thought the mastermind of the attacks was in Syria? So how has he piped up in Paris, they are obviously looking for him in the city. The other man on the run may be in Spain apparently so after letting him go into Belgium he's managed to get out again. I made this point before but the fact we are an island has saved us yet again.

I say we man the borders with trebuchet and boiling liquids - that'll soon scare those so-called terrorists with their trojan horse away...

It's obvious that the story of the mastermind of the Paris attacks being in Syria has been fed to the press so to lull them into a false sense of security, the dark arts of false information.

Those figures are UK ones, not worldwide.
So when you concluded that the 'vast majority' of the Third World would be Muslim, you omitted the billion Hindus [and however many Buddhist, for example]. Not much of a hypothesis, is it?

I'll stick to my 99% cheers. I have a lifetime of research to say that I am completely correct. ;)
I was going to put together a long post saying how and why your comments about British Jews are ridiculous and basically antisemitic but I think most sensible people can work that out for themselves.

Agree. I never subscribe to these conspiracy theories that these attacks never happened or they were orchestrated by the government but the aftermath of these events are always very manipulated.

This is a tweet today from a British Jewish lady who is a very successful lawyer who appears on TV advising on family matters. Bog standard comments from, for example, British Jewish lawyers. In return, nobody is allowed to say anything or face losing their careers and/or liberty. So much for free speech.

'If Palestinians weren't hard liners they'd have made peace and got a state. It's wiping out Israel. Anyone who thinks differently is deluded.'

....or out was a huge balls up and French intelligence was caught with its pants down?

What does this mean?
  • Almost 80% of respondents consider that, in the context of the conflicts raging around the world, those who condemn Israel’s military actions “are guilty of applying double standards”.

Who said that, out of interest?

1 Billion Hindu's, 4 billion Muslims, with the numbers of Muslims increasing exponentially. As a worldwide population Muslims will outnumber Christians by 2100, and between them they'll account for almost 70% of the world's population.
