Club Badge (merged)

I did attend the lectures and Gary said pretty much every symbol has a utd link our current badge is based on thus image and the coat of arms that utd also used in their badge and fc utd do now

If we wanted to get away from Utd taro shed images, we need to scrap every symbol we have ever used and start over

Yeah let's start again, a brand new badge

Let's not! We're a club with over 100 years of history and an indelible link to Manchester. Let's respect that and have a badge the recognises our history and identity, while being fit for purpose in the modern world.

I know what you're saying, I love the rich history of our club too, but I don't see that any image or symbol respresents us alone, We just don't seem to have an image that is solely city, apart from a blue moon, and that would look crap on a badge, so why not start a fresh and create an image that IS city and put the '1894' and 'Manchester City Football Club' on it,

Well well the MEN survey results say 51% of city fans want the eagle.

I hope those that thought they were in the vast majority wanting rid of it are suitably annoyed.

There's plenty of images that say City to me. The ship, the circle badge, the inner shield, the 3 rivers, sky blue and white colours, they're all unmistakably Manchester City to me when you put them together. And it represents the city of Manchester.

You saying 'solely' City makes me think you don't want any imagery that's ever been associated with The Shite or The Tin Pot Shite. Personally I don't give a fuck. No one associates the ship with them, they only associate the devil bit.

The fact The Tin Pot Shite have got a similar badge with similar elements makes absolutely no difference to me. They're a semi professional outfit who play in Bury, I couldn't give less of a fuck about their badge, they're a complete irrelevance.

We had that badge 80 odd years ago, and a variation of it was associated with the club for over 60 years. They've tried to rip it off and no way in the world should we sit back and let them. It's ours and if anyone doesn't have the right to wear it it's them, not us.

Other than the eagle head which I don't like, the badge below represents my view.

I love the full club name being included, but as an exercise if you removed the writing on this and showed it to 100 football fans, every single one of them would correctly guess it's Manchester City. It couldn't possibly be any other club.

I quite like the old manchester central letter head but now they have reformed as an amature team and have re-adopted it thet it is unusable Gary James would know better though I expect, but that in a round badge would look nice in blue n white

The M.E.N survey also said that over 25% wanted to keep the stars! If you can find me one genuine match going blue who wants to keep the stars I'll be impressed.

And you seem to be skipping over the fact that on the M.E.N survey the circular badge, the ship, the traditional inner shield, the rivers, even the rose, were all more popular than the eagle! They can't all be included, so I think the bird is goosed!

I quite like the stars just because such an unimportant thing seems to wind so many up.

I'd have 5 on the next badge.

Selective reporting copycat. You forgot to mention that was the lowest % out of all the elements apart from the 3 stars. I'll do a proper job of letting fans know the facts;
1. Ship 79% want it.
2. 3 rivers 79% want it.
3. latin phrase 65% want it
4. Rose 54% want it
5. Eagle 51% of Utd fans want it. Big deal.
The guy who wrote the article even reported eagle as on the Manchester coat of arms which it isn't.
Bye Copycat & bye Eagle. City are not the Rspca.

If 51% were united fans then the ship is looking touch and go.

Fuck the eagle let's have the manchester nuclear free dove

or the multi coloured M

Or we could just get back our proper clasic badge back

Its a false report. Its not based on 100% of people. Its based on percentage of what people would accept. Its also done by a Utd paper with Utd reporters. It was better when people bought a copy in the 80's & 90's. Now its free but would best be used as fish & chip paper.
