How good can Iheanacho get?

Martial - 28 games, 2320 minutes played, 8 goals, 5 assists, 290minutes per goal, 178minutes per goal involvement

Iheanacho - 18 games, 523minutes played, 8 goals, 4 assists, 65minutes per goal, 43 minutes per goal involvement

Two other fun facts:
Lionel Messi age 19 - scored 9 goals in 1403 minutes (season 2005/2006)
Cristiano Ronaldo age 19 - scored 6 goals in 2269 minutes (season 2003/2004)

We're obviously not sure of the level Kelechi will reach, but well... Messi / Ronaldo / once in generation talent is not beyond the question.

Damn! You're right! I mistakenly added the 90 minutes Kelechi played in the U21 league! It took Kelechi 22% of the time...

He reminds me of film I've seen of Pele as a kid. It was of course a different game then & different tactics, so we're not going to see Kelechi flicking & tricking his way around 6 modern day defenders at a time, like a kid in the schoolyard, like Pele was doing, but the moments of magic are there & imo ther are similarities. Imo Kelechi could have come straight from the U17 World Cup into our first team squad. Not as a regular starter, but off the bench etc, red tape made that impossible.

He is a potential genius & those on here saying stuff like 'that's the standard our kids need to be at in order to get a game' are talking ridiculous nonsense. In that case the only player in the team would be Aguero. Very few of our first team squad would have been able to come into a City team at 19 & do what Kelechi has done. If any. And no way was Aguero as sharp mentally, when he was 22 never mind 19, Aguero was super talented but a bit headless.

Kelechi doesn't just have skill (they all have skill) he has the mentality, intelligence & confidence to go with it, & will likely have the physique too & that's why he reminds me of Pele, rather than just ability. With Pep in charge during these crucial years to come, there must be a decent chance of him realising his potential, which is off the scale. There is much more to Kelechi's game than scoring tap ins etc & it will start to show.

Only if he's given game time mate.

I think what he's done so far has earned him a start in the PL. Can't see it happening.

One of the strikers needs offloading in the summer he's to good to play 3rd fiddle.

But I'll bet my house that he's the one who goes out of the 3

What utter cack. He got a start in the premier league the other week and did well. Now he has a hat trick under his belt.

The lad has been integrated perfectly into the first team and his rise to become an integral squad member at 19 is a huge feather in the cap of the football staff.

Remember that insane goal he scored against the rags at EDS level? I seriously can't wait for him to do something like that in the Premier League. It's coming!

Utter garbage sorry fella.

Do you wanna make any other bets? And where is you're house?

What impresses me as much as his football is the way he speaks. Every sentence either has "I am very grateful", "thank you to the manager" or "I need to work hard" in it. He's really well grounded I think. His play reminds me of Sturridge actually, but with a better character.

Yet more vindication of our academy and our player integration system, because psychology is part of their job.

He's the first proper product of the new academy and the likes of Marwood and Begeristain would have been bursting with pride yesterday as he announced his arrival to the football world. This is more proof of what a well run club we are now.

Exciting times.

Not sure I agree with the Eto'o shouts tbh, even though Iheanacho can reach/surpass the same level.

Eto'o was more about electric pace and playing on the shoulder of the last defender, and didn't have a well rounded game until later in his career.

Iheanacho can play on the shoulder, but seems to enjoy dropping deep and play making too.

He's got it all and I'm not sure who you could really compare him too.

Let's just compare him to Kelechi Iheanacho, eh?

Saying he's the new this player or that player will only place an unnecessary burden on his shoulders.

He's the kind of player who just scores. He's alert in the goal area, he makes himself available in the penalty area and give him a one-on-one yer've got to put yer shirt on him! He reminds me, dare I say it, of Andy Cole. He was another who just accumulated goals. Nothing that would have people drooling, apart from that one which Darius assisted(!), but he will turn matches. He accumulates goals and the team accumulates points!!

He has a predatory instinct that's for sure.

I like him and think he gives defenders something to think about. He should perhaps have been given more minutes especially at the like of Villa away in the league when he was overlooked after the Bony injury.

He is getting more now though so will only get better.
