Post Match Thread: City vs Spurs

Very disappointed with the celebration for our goal. Not one City player (cept Zab and that was an after thought) could be bothered encouraging the lad. Very dissapointing.
Just the opposite. I thought he should have got the ball and gone back to the centre-circle and got another. I thinkVinny had a word. You could see some of the players were annoyed

Last week I was annoyed with the lack of desire and fight. We didn't give Leicester the respect they deserve and played straight into there hands. Today however I was pleased with our attitude and thought he picked the right team in playing Fernando and Fernandinho protecting the back 4 rather than Toure and Clichy getting the nod over Kolorav. We looked more compact albeit at the expense of us looking less dangerous in an attacking sense. The difference in Kompany playing is obviously huge, Otamendi looked more assure next to him and his presence seem to galvanise the team. It was a typical top the table clash with both teams cancelling each other out until Clattenburg shown his true colours again. We didn't get the rub of the green today it could easily have been a City win on another day. Great to see Kompany play a full 90. Despite the result I'm more confident in going into the next few games if we show the same spirit and keep Kompany and Aguero fit.

We got fucked over by the officials. I'm as sick as anyone about the way we concede cheap goals but today it was more about getting fucked over.

I really wonder what the hell you were watching . He ran into blind alleys a few times ,got a couple of crosses in Wow ....Don't argue Kun and Siva did fuck all (which is true).
Plus how many times did he get knocked off the ball easily and lose it?

The defending on the 2nd goal really bothers me. It was a bad giveaway but that happens in football.

We had 3 and nearly 4 players back it should have been easy. I don't understand why Kompany didn't pressure the ball immediately. Then Otamendi sees he isn't and decides he will come across the line to stop the ball, creating the space Eriksen scores from. Kolarov has all of this happening in front of him and watches his man run across him and into the channel. Any one of them gets a decision right and nothing happens.

Their winner didn't cost a full shilling. We had four back, and that's the kind of attack a decent back line snuffs out. But you can afford to write those off if you get a decent shout from the officials, who, true to type, had their bargepoles with them to shove up the MCFC arse yet again

Kolorov is guilty of this ball watching time and time again.

I hope our players were taking a good look at how hard the spurs players worked out of possession because that's what is going to be expected next season. No more 50 minutes strolling before bothering to contest every ball and second ball.
Goes without saying that the officials were terrible. The linesman annoyed me more than clattenburg tbh. One of the offsides he gave was so bad it was incredible, there was actually a good yard of clear daylight between Sergio and the last defender and Sergio hadn't come back from an offside position, inexcusably bad decision.

Not winning one game against a top 6 side is an absolutely fucking disgraceful statistic and the players should be ashamed of themselves.

Can't see it getting much better in the next couple of weeks, our annual defeat at Anfield beckons in the league. Hopefully we'll get a bit of respite with the cup games.

Thought Fernando was best player on the pitch by a mile.

We've fallen so far in performance levels these last few weeks, that was actually a decent showing, no lack of effort.

Silva and Sterling were frustrating in equal measure, but we got fucked over in this one.

Spurs came for a draw and showed nothing of note.

Much better performance today, the penalty decision ruined it and we had to make changes that we wouldn't have done. Kompany was excellent, Yaya much improved but Sterling was so frustrating.

Fernando looked lost and couldn't keep the ball the few times he got it. Spurs were finding acres in between the lines and that was partly because he didn't know if he was coming or going. The worse part of his game was not giving any of Yaya or Silva an out ball, mainly hiding when they had it. Silva gave him a couple of bollockings.
I agree with the rest.
