What was the atmosphere like v PSG?

When I was trying to watch on my dodgy stream which was the BT coverage at the start he said something like a wall of noise from the city fans

I watched it in glorious full HD and they slagged off the atmosphere and the empty seats which continued when they went to the panel in the studio.

They even managed to do it after we had won.

The atmosphere was building as soon as you got near the ground, just that anticipation in the air that it was a special night.Well done to the 1894 lads aswell last night, looked great from 241.

The camel lipped arsehole cant hide his hate of City and what as that fat French twat Ginola ever won in his career, you'd think they raise the roof off Old Trafford every game the way that baised twat belittles City.

BT should be fucking ashamed of themselves allowing pricks like that commentating on a City match.

Which is exactly what mcpointy & Ferdinand said DIDN'T happen. Slagging us for being quiet at the start when their own commentator described it as a 'wall of noise'.

How much more proof do we need ?

Was in South 314, 2 seats from the segregation and garlic munchers. The atmosphere was fantastic. The only empty seats were a few rows behind the psg fans the rest of the tier looked full.

It was everything I wanted it to be, we were all behind the team and let them all know it.

Word to the Paris fan who had the nice hair and covered his face with a scarf, I'm still waiting for my shave you offered when dragging your finger across your throat and pointing at me. - think he was just a very angry young man.

Anyway back to the point we ALL deserve credit for the atmosphere, its our stadium and we showed its our city. Well done all.

Atmosphere in the ground was amazing tbh, more so than previous games it felt like. Everyone was up for it.

I cant believe BT have spoilt the event on TV though, because it was amazing live and if they only fkin tried they would make more viewers by selling the dream rather than trying to peddle the negative story.... City will make their viewer base increase over the next few years if they would only fkin realise it!

So, besides the french guys sat behind me, seemingly taking the piss out of City players it was excellent.
Watched the first half of the highlights programme at midnight last night on BT (will watch the rest later). No negative stuff at all. Seemed like someone had had a word and they edited it all out.

I'm not arsed whatever they say. Its all they have left and they know it too.

Spoke to a Rag last night who called to congratulate me through clenched teeth. He mentioned the empty seats and I just laughed, but surprisingly even he said he couldn't see any and couldn't see what McMadMan was going on about.

He was honourable enough to say the atmosphere wasn't shit, it was tense as a goal either way could settle the tie and the roar when KDB scored was as much about relief as it was celebratory. Someone must have dropped him on his head because I've never known him be so philosophically analytical about us before.

As my mate must have been sat there thinking about tonight's FA Cup replay and scrapping with us and WHU for 4th place, I think the realisation finally hit him that City have arrived in the big time and are looking to stay there.

Brilliant atmosphere last night all round the ground. We're up in SS 317 but you could hear the other sides of the ground so fuck knows what the BT cunts were on about. They had long spells of possession which quietened the crowd a bit but that's to be expected.

The irony of Mcpointerman sat there for free, do the programme assessors not realise that anybody watching this tripe of a channel with half a brain cell can see through their jealous drivel

Definatly an agenda thing me thinks.
I watched it on bien sports (take a pew lad & pervy eyebrows presenting) at goodfellas bar in tenerife. No empty seats were discussed or shown. Crowd sounded up for it most of the time. Plenty of blue moon and na na na nanan na city... when KDB scored it was non stop KDB chant. Didnt see many people leaving earlie either. Well done city fans, even the tourists ;) as i know at least 2 had our seats

Well it fucking wasn't.

Due to husbandry duties i had to watch on the telly last night. Determined not to have to endure BT's scouse fuckwittery we had Fox soccer instead.
The commentators were balanced and fair but the biggest difference was the background (crowd) noise. On Fox the atmosphere sounded electric, almost a wall of noise. My stream froze for a couple of minutes so flicked over to BT's show and it sounded completely different. Very little crowd noise and the toneless droning of the pundits made it sound like a training match.
I know the noise was immense in the ground as my mates have all told me so (yeah, thanks for that).
The moral of this post; if you really wanna know, go.

I thought it was a pretty decent atmosphere, it does go quiet at times in matches like that because tension does that to a crowd (any crowd at any crucial game IMO) but by and large thought it was good. Getting pretty sick of the shit we are getting currently, seems to be a narrative started by bitter united fans a few years ago realising that we were now better than them and that they only had cheap digs at a few empty seats left to celebrate. Disgusted at how gleefully so many media outlets have picked up and developed that narrative, I just don't see any other fans getting this shit even though we have a higher average crowd than all but a couple of clubs.

People were late taking their seats. Thought the streamer cannons were a nice touch. The psg fans were lively early on but non existent once we scored.the periods of quiet from city fans were down to the tenseness of the match especially once aguero missed the pen.i was in 211 and atmosphere was great and great celebrations when we scored.we were in front of Rio and other cronies and sour faced rag looked like he was going to burst into tears.not sure why they are invited to comment on our games when there must be so many other knowledgeable football folk out there who have connection with city.on a negative note that new version of bluemoon sucks and harder to join in with than the original version.somebody should be sacked for agreeing to it especially if they parted with any money.i could come up with better on a stylophone

As I posted earlier, I recon one of the BT brass had a word, as it seened to change during the course of the match.

They'll have 100 mics & 50 cameras on the crowd at Anfield & it wouldn't surprise me if one of them has another go at us, telling us how much better they are.

We are being set up.

Spot on about the mic situation and how it can be manipulated.

YNWA alone will have the neighbours banging on the walls demanding you turn the tv down ;-)

Ginola is bitter and loves PSG. He was clearly smarting at the end. Only last week on his guest stint on Talk Breakfast he was saying how PSG would challenge for champions if they were in the PL and that they would brush City aside as PSG were/are a far better team.

I have nothing against this poser, apart from the fact that he makes women swoon - ****, and his English is far far better than my French but he is far from eloquent with a limited vocabulary. It is clear when he speaks that he is constantly scratching around for appropriate words and uses make do word when he can't find anything exacting. He does this an awful lot as many do when speaking another language. Whilst it makes them understandable, it means their point is often watered down or wide of the mark, with this I would usually give him the benefit of the doubt, not on this occasion however, he's just a bitter, sour graped ****.

They've turned down the stadium microphones since we started booing the CL anthem. Watch a game from before and watch one from last night, it's pretty obvious they've been edited. The atmosphere last night was the best I've seen in Europe, including Hamburg.

It topped a lot of the Euro away games I've been to as well. When someone says 'big European night under the lights' that's what I'm gonna think of. Honestly, it was euphoric, comparable to any game at the new ground.

Watching it now on BT Sports. Atmosphere sounds pretty good to be honest. Loud, very much into the game and plenty of audible songs Rio you knob. Just reached half time.

In 315, there were a couple of PSG fans next to me and my mate, they were alright to be honest, they clapped all of our French players and all of our bigger players when they were announced at the start of the game. Rio's waffling is clearly bullshit, the atmosphere was great.
