Merkel threatens us!

Germany says our way or the highway

Well that will go down well lol

He got it in the neck over immigration, especially given his own manifesto promise just 12 months ago, the fact he has got nowhere near meeting it and now wants us to vote to stay in a club that will never allow him or anyone to have a say in how many come in.

After that it was mainly trade but again, most just didn't appreciate or believe his doom and gloom predictions and openly slated him for a negative campaign.
He was ridiculed for saying if we reduced immigration it would damage our economy when his election manifesto said they wanted to reduce it to tens of thousands - hypocritical or what?

Just watched QT on BBC1.

Thought Frank Field was quite brilliant.

Certainly needs to be given a higher role in the Vote Leave campaign.

He was good BigJoe and very honest in saying they didn't have a clue about what the impact of leaving the EU would be!

He certainly raised the standard of the debate.

Did you see Cameron on Sky News Tim? I thought he got absolutely hammered, and believe me I am not saying that as a Brexiter. I feel he was ridiculed in part and exposed as not wishing to answer questions in other areas.

He seemed very uncomfortable I thought.

No I didn't see Cameron but I take your word he was useless. Hopefully, politics will return to being more about the issues and less about PR!

I thought that Owen guy was good on Question Time and I usually find him quite irritating!

Aside from immigration - I can't see where Cameron went wrong tonight.

He was clearly up against audience members who are 100% decided on leaving the EU. so whatever answer he gave was never going to be satisfactory.

Overall , he more than held his own and vitally repeated the point we are much stronger in Europe, which is also backed up by ...

The Labour Leader
Libs Dem Leader
SNP
Bank Of England
IMF
The TUC
Trade Unions
US Goverment
OECD
WTO
ONS
The London Mayor
The Immigration Minister
The Health Secretary
The Defence Secretary

personally, staying in makes more sense. We are not dictated by the EU, they don't govern our laws - we are in a trading block bigger than China and we prosper from this. I see no reason for us to leave aside from the migrations issue and a lot of hot air over how the EU is run. Thinking we can just walk out of the EU and pretend we're going to be better off is laughable and there is nothing to back that up, we can stay in the EU and remain a strong voice in wanting the best of for us.

Deary me ! Field was dire, he said nothing of any significance at all ! His point about nobody knowing is utter bollocks. These barmpots who want us out and lead us into oblivion are coming out with this crap because they have no answer to the reality of what every leading economist, independent institute and body is saying. It will be a disaster for jobs, wealth of individuals and ultimately happiness based on prosperity and a strong economy if we leave the EU. All the brexiters talk about is immigration ( immigrants who by the way make a positive impact on our economy ) and this ridiculous power back to the UK nonsense. If we have no power why do we bother having local and general elections and a budget every year !? The vast majority of laws are made by ourselves we haven't given up any sovereignty at all.It is a complete myth. We must stay in the EU and I'm certain we will.

And the IFS ! A completely independent economic body.

Ps as for Hamilton. What a wanker ! How can anyone seriously agree with the crap he comes out with like his UKIP fellow racists !

I agree to a point, but exactly the same arguements could fired at Cameron who every answer to be about the Economy where thus is opinion and supposition.

I think Field played a good honest hand.

Yesterday when Johnson and Gove offered a suggestion they would introduce a points system on immigration, the inners turned on them saying they were writing government manifestos. It seems they can't win in as much as the inners demand answers to how the ZuK will look pistol-Brexit, fair enough, who then get all upset when solutions are tabled.

Not good debating style us it?

Someone earlier in this thread showed the breakdown of the EU officials and how it is very much democratic.

Could that be resent as I can not find.

I think its the commission rather than the Parliament that's undemocratic iirc.
People like Kinnock for instance that never won an election - its like the rags and dippers getting automatic cl places.

Hahahahaha, yeah, unelected career politicians who effectively govern our way of life and dictate our laws from another country, very democratic.

But he was nominated by someone who did win an election , which is the same or more democratic than all the heads of the civil service in the UK and the same or better than how cabinet ministers are chosen. If genuinely you are afraid that the civil service of the EU isn't democratic
Enough why not apply the same principles to the UK? After all political appointees is actually much more democratic than how the UK equivalents get their jobs.

Officials picked by elected governments and you want to get rid of that on reasons of democracy to replace with completely un-democratically appointed bureaucrats .
