Joe Hart (joined Torino on season long loan - Official)

The media have been trying to unsettle Joe and knock his confidence for about five or six seasons. He got the Golden Gloves award four times in that period. One goal fewer last year, perhaps that ridiculous penalty given by Clottenberg and he would have been joint winner last year - when we had no Kompany just any pair from Dimmy Otto and the Mangler.

If he wins it this season he will have won it more times than anyone else. Czech, Spanish, or Polish.

And of course English. So how many goalies have been in the PL in that period?

The media know that Joe is better that many Blues do - otherwise they would not repeat the same annual exercise despite stats showing the opposite of the case they try to make.

Good post.

just seeing a lot of on twitter/here etc acknowledging that joe hart's place as our number one could be on the wain. after a pretty dismal euro's and a relatively suspect last few seasons. perhaps his starting place is no longer a sure thing

Congrats on thinking exactly the same way the media want you to think.

There is only one opinion that counts and that is Pep's

Lets us see if he buys a keeper that will put an end to the Hart is or isn't one of the worlds best keepers.

Think personally he rarely gets caught out on the near post as some people say. He gets caught out low to his left - caused by being 6 foot 5 and - more importantly right footed which means he is stronger as most keepers are on his stronger foot side (perhaps pushes off too much from his right foot this sometimes happens - would love to know if anyone checks his boots for wear and tear underneath - if his balance is perfect it should be same wear/tear as any podiatrist would say. Saying that, no one is perfect and if anyone thinks he is the reason we have gone downhill they are surely deluded - how many European games has he stopped us getting humiliated for example? Despite his infrequent errors he would still always be one of the first names on my team sheet (very first if it was in position order)

Totally agree but we know they will pull out the shittest excuse of them all:
"But but... City have always had a rock solid defense --that they've never had problems with-- in front of him unlike super de Gea, Courtois and Loris... that's the ONLY reason he's even won one!"

Agree to this to an extent, he's so susceptible to shots on his left hand side it's ridiculous.

Maybe there was some truth in Fabien Barthez's trolling. Joe does tend to dive across in a line that gives him less power to keep out some shots. Other top keepers tend to dive across but at more of a 10 o cock angle (when diving to the left) that couldngive them more momentum to keep the ball out.

I only really noticed this after Barthez's comments. If this is a weakness (and I'm not sure it is) then surely Joe can work to rectify any fault.

I thought he was the only keeper to have won it 4 times.

What shite, get rid.

He has had a dodgy last few seasons apparently :)

Some fucking fans need to go and give their head a wobble or take up rugby instead.

I see that other pillock is back taking delight in posting how crap Hart is, a City fan you say ? A fucking very odd one I say.

Depends which was the wind is blowing. Wind as in flatulence.

I've been pilloried here before for speaking about Hart. Think he is a good shot-stopping keeper who struggles with crosses, but now he is getting walloped for his shot stopping, too!

Think it is time for him to get his head down, work on his game (ALL OF IT, because his kicking is absolute shite!) and keep his trap shut.

No wonder you have been got at for that rubbish

Succinct, if blind.

As I've stated, I wouldn't trade him for any other keeper in the world, but I think he can improve. As a keeper, at 29 he is only just coming into his prime, even though it seems like he has been around forever.

I LIKE him, but that doesn't mean I can't think he needs to improve, does it?

I think he paints the target on himself by being vocal and confident. Some people don't like that. I have never heard DeGea talk, nor Courtois, and only rarely heard Cech or Buffon. Maybe there is something to be said for that? Just a thought.
