Mate, even with a bedding in period he is 10x the player of Joe on the ball, you've just said you've watched a bit of bravo, then you'll understand that he invariably is composed and will stick to what is asked, as opposed to shitting a brick and launching of 60'yards to a hobbit!!
He's also much worse in one on ones, which is far from ideal with a high line and not near the shot stopper, plus he doesn't know the league and we've no guarantee he'll settle and show his best form over here. Not buying the bad apple argument with Hart either, he's never seemed anything but an absolute pro, unlike some others.

I know that. Nevertheless I wouldn't want anyone to think that I don't respect or value our players, of course I do. I just don't get wailing and gnashing of teeth when they leave what to them is just a job, for another probably better paid job. As an example take Pep (I know he's not a player) but he will be here for 3 years or so and then he will move on, but while he is here he will fight tooth and nail for us and we will love him for it. It doesn't mean that he has suddenly turned Sky Blue, it doesn't mean he has any feelings for the club beyond wanting to succeed in a job for which he is handsomely paid, Barca will always be his passion. I'm afraid it's the same with players.
Genuine question, do you feel the same of the likes of Summerbee etc?

To be fair, you also need centre halves who are composed and smart enough to be in positions to receive it too. If the keeper is being closed down, then the chances are the angles are narrowing for the keeper to play it out - and the CB's or FB's need to help the keeper out. If they expect the keeper to do it all, then it'll fail even with Neuer!

It ought to be less work for the CB's and FB's to learn though, as they should already be decent with their feet, but that said, a fair few defenders aren't all that good under pressure when receiving the ball either. Some are born tacklers, and at their best when the opposition has the ball, less so when it's at their own feet.

Would you of had kolorov as 'comfortable' prior to this season?

Of course you need spokes within the wheel, unfortunately Joe has a consistent puncture with his distribution...

It's more an indictment of English football if anything, not really joes fault, however, the legacy pep will leave will influence the way the game is played over here, for the better!!

Yep agreed.

Neville expalins towards the end of this the difference in Spain with the GK position being integral to starting attacks.

Yet another reason why he shouldn't persevere with that strategy but inexplicably does.
So he should pass it to people who aren't there? If the players in his third of the pitch aren't making themselves available what else is he supposed to do but send it long? Go on a dribble up the pitch and try to give the forwards a pass to feet?

Any truth in the rumours that he threw a paddy? Someone has posted one of our tunnel led panels that looks like it was punched out and said Hart did it.

And that is why he's buying in the likes of Stones.

No in fact it's one of the biggest transfers of this window. The whole set-up of Pep's system starts with the keeper.
Joe cannot do what is needed and therefore we need someone who can.
That's strange because last week it started with the centre half, I suppose next it'll start with the forward and Aguero will be out?

Maybe he should shout at the defence in the same manner he shouted at that ball boy. Maybe that would work?

This is about the tenth time I've said this, not to you, obviously, but leaving anything external of play out of this, the level of distribution is shoddy and invariably invites pressure back on to his back line, as he gives possesion away cheaply... That will reduce in a possesion based system, something (imo) hart won't we able to cope with.... If you're discounting the 'bad apple' scenario as well, what do you believe are peps motives?? Shits and giggles

He's never had much of a problem with doing that. Seeing as they acted in exactly the same manner with Caballero and Pants, maybe the defence had no interest in taking the ball of him, after all, it's hardly an integral part of the game in England is it?

Too early to judge this season, but to be honest, my gut feeling would be no, I'd not fancy him strongly under pressure from the very top forwards. But I'm not seeing him day in day out.
I wouldn't think Pep necessarily sees him in his longer term plans, but we can't upgrade everybody in one fell swoop, and Pep might have to wait for the right upgrade to become available.

I think Otamendi has far more ability if he can cut out his impetuous moments.
