Derby post match thread 10/09/2016

12 years ago but I dont see why thats relevant to this discussion based around football in the present day.

Im not trying to argue with anyone believe me, I was just making the point that City's real will be against a team with the style and attack like Arsenal's.
You're in for a shock mate, you can forget recent games against City because we're a completely different proposition this season. We dominated United yesterday, and we have Aguero, Kompany and Gundogan to come into that team. I honestly believe the penny hasn't dropped yet about how much this squad led by this manager can achieve. I think we'll hammer you when we play you and if that sounds arrogant so be it.

Excellent!

Not their best player and hasn't been for some while, Peg has royally pissed-off their best player, Martial, and he had the biggest slapped-arse face imaginable when he came on.

And I'd say that Rashford is their best player and was certainly their most dangeous yesterday
If Pullisinho manages Rashford for a couple of years he will destroy him

They created bugger all. It amazes me that the numpties think they were great second half, they were shite. We created more and bossed them more than in the 6-1 or 1-0 title game of 2012. Mourinho changed his team to combat us and he failed. A £100m player who doesn't turn up for the big games is laughable and his positioning was one of the reason we took them apart first half. Their players and their manager didn't know what to do, brilliant. The only disappointment is the scoreline doesn't reflect how much better than them we really were.

It makes you wonder just what the deal is with Shrek. Yesterday -once again- he was fucking atrocious, but it seems his is the first name on the team sheet. There has to be something going on there: for a player who is so far below the standards required for Premiership football to be consistently chosen over better, more technically gifted players is, well...it's a bit sinister.
Add in the fact that he can continuously chase the ref and scream abuse in his ear without any action being taken smacks of something being not quite right in the game.
I don't like to think that our national game is corrupt, but there genuinely is no other explanation for what we're seeing with the whole rags/Shrek thing.

Will be a different test against a team trying to play possession football like you lot but i'm afraid i'd fancy us to out football you and more importantly outrun and out work you,our football is a joy to watch but our graft out of possession is just as important and expect us to exploit the space that i think the way Wenger will set you up,different test no doubt but we shall see.

I think differently and quite the opposite actually lol but yer lets wait and see.

One thing that's noticeable about this City team is there is more energy, pressing and work off the ball compared to the Pellegrini years.

It might be, or it might be easier.

Arsenal hold no surprises for City. We have seen it all before & we have seen it done better than now & still beat it. The question is whether City are as good as they appear to be, or whether the teams we have played contributed to our performances. Because if we are actually as good as we seem to be, it's a whole new level.

Personally I think we are actually that good but are undermined at times by defensive mistakes, iffy keeping & not converting enough of our overwhelmingly dangerous situations. Mancini's team, for instance, with the number of counter attacks we had, would have topped the 6 v Utd.

If play v teams like Arse & Liverpool & don't convert a higher percentage then we could get spanked at the other end, but, it would be reasonable to assume, that as we are only a few games in, with a new manager who seems to be fantastic at getting his players to do what he wants, we will get quite a lot better.

Yep. Wasn't holding his position at all, kept following the ball towards our centre halves and not coming back, left Silva and KDB free to double up on bogbrush in acres of space. If they're going to get the best of that lads he needs to be the most advanced of a 3 in midfield, but they can't drop Shrek, so ...

Good for you supporting your team, but I watched Liverpool take you apart, and whilst we were owning United at OT, you were struggling to beat an average Southampton team at home. So yeah, I'm not quaking in my boots at the prospect of facing the mighty Arsenal.

Best of luck getting hold of the ball ;-)

A midfield of Xhaka-Elneny-Cazorla not getting hold of the ball in a premier league game? Thats not even mentioning Ozil and Ramsey.

What drugs are you on mate? City have very good midfielders but don't go on like they're Xavi-Iniesta tika-taka level.

Seriously? Not a chance. That 6-1 dug right into the soul of their fans, and the whole fabric of that shithouse of a club. We were imperious that day, and battered them. If anything, the scoreline flattered them. We owned them that day, and I personally think we dominated them more than we did yesterday.

The 6-1 was a 3-1 with benefits. if they'd done as baconface wanted and accepted a 3-1 defeat then it wouldn't get a mention. Yes we dominated them but they had a chance to score early on before we did. The first 40 mins yesterday we owned them TOTALLY. We played football they could only imagine in their wildest dreams. No one will make a mug with 1-2 on it but in terms of digging a hole in their souls yesterday was a Marianas trench.

well it could hardly be anything to do with him and his tactical failings could it? Blame players, blame officials blame any **** except shoulder your share Maureen go on............. anybody know where Eva was yesterday so she could take her share of the blame?

Just like the pisscan.

It was never his fault.
