City v Everton post match

Pep has tried many players in different setup against teams he had no experience before. I think now he know his players. Second half of the season, we will see the real Pep.

I understand its important to look at the performance and I would agree 72% possession shows we were in control for most of the game but this is a results league and this game was there for the taking and we didnt take it. Long season but this is the type of game you look back at in May and say, if only we could have won that game......mistakes and missed chances, can be the difference between winning the prem or going home....we beat ourselves today "again" with missed chances and mistakes and we need to get it sorted.....I have no interest in seeing 70% possession games, if we cant get the 3 points and a win. You dont get style points in this league! Give me a poor performance and 3 points any day!;) Go blues!!

"woods for the trees" springs to mind.

Open your eyes and actually look at what we are doing and think about the future and whats to come rather than the here and now and wishing we where doing something differently.

Everton were lucky and equally played well defensively in their 18 yard area. Another day that was 5-1, we just need to make sure we do not deviate, this is the way forward defo. Both penalties were poor but i will mark that down to a glitch in the matrix... for now.

Everton have wise players in defence and we had them under the kosh 90% of the match play wise, Kun for just 30min with Kelechi of the boil, all in all pretty happy with everything, a win should really have been ours though with such dominance.

What a sack of shit post that is.

The poster that came out with that gem wont be replying or making similar again tonight so id rather we dont give him the attention he so desperately craved by repeating it mate.

Cheers ;-)
Fair do's. It was getting a bit technical.

I agree mate.....we were never going to fix everything in 4 months. We've just seen a different team these last 3 or 4 weeks to the way we started the season, so understandable people feeling disappointed. It will come tho, just got to show a little patience.....I just dont get the "we, didnt win but atleast we looked good" type comments.....We were clearly the best team today and you need to win those type of games...Feel confident it will all come together tho! cheers

Todays performance was for me our best yet.

Imo of course.

Bookmark this post because over the course of the next 3 years, Pep will make us one of the greatest club sides thats ever existed and im in no doubt about it.

I didn't go today. After the game, I thought I would read this thread to find out what happened. Thus far, I have established:

We were all over them but they controlled the game.

We created nothing but we should have scored plenty.

Sane played well but he did nothing.

Silva and De Bruyne, our creative players, were very good but they created little.

Nolito not starting was bizarre. Aguero needs taking off penalties.

The most frustrating thing for me is that Hull let in 6 to Bournemouth today, but when we play Hull they'll magically turn into the best defenders in the league and we'll be lucky to get 1 or 2. Stekelenburg is the exact same, another very average goalkeeper who turns into Neuer when he faces us.

That we can both agree on mate!;)
