Penalty training everyday for everybody. Missing two penalties is unacceptable. Especially if you consider our style of play, we will be awarded tons of penalties this season. At least one of two has to be a goal.
Gundogan really disappointing? Give your head a wobble. Agree with your first two points, although they are a bit obvious. No sugarcoating that.2 points dropped. Terribly wasteful from the spot. Reality setting in. Same problems as last year and so far no answers. Gundogan really disappointing so far. Thought he took the soft option far to often. Ie pass it backwards or sideways. Needs to be braver on the ball.
I am not sure any of the CBs would have done better in that situation given it was a one-on-one and Clichy—the quickest among them—was beaten for pace. You cannot go to ground in that situation, as any of those you mention would be predisposed to do, as it is basically taking a 75% chance of being beaten or sent off for a bad last man challenge.
I think the only one that should really be looked at for that goal is Otamendi. He has to stop being so aggressive and going to ground when being pulled into midfield. He is going to the casino each time he does it: yes, he'll win the ball in spectacular fashion every now and then, but more often than not he is either going to get beaten or concede a foul. On balance he is going to cause more problems than he solves.
