PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I take it I haven't missed a thing since everyone is talking about the mad hatter?
Another letter due from the clubs lawyers i hope

You can tell he interacts with Liverpool fans the most, who pat him on the back and maybe buy him a coffee. Out of copium, even though fans from a lot of clubs want it to be true for different reasons(some envy, some jealousy etc) they are the one fanbase who desperately need to believe it the most. Actually those tight fisted gits buying a cofee?? Probably Rags and Arsenal fans who do the bulk of that. Anyway, that looks like a signature you'd find on the RAWK forum.

This too is on his substack:

Doesn't seem to have been any change in his behaviour, he's worse if anything. I mean, does he know how unprofessional and petty he comes across? Correct me if I'm wrong but is he talking about a legal letter he and others were sent last year? Wasn't he already freelancing by then? IMO because he seems unhinged and obsessed about one particular subject:

Editor of an actual sports news publication: ' This again Nick? Cant we have anticle about...' Nick: 'OH I SEE, I SEE! The fucking dodgy Arab Sheikh bartards have gotten to you too haven't they? Show me your accounts now or I walk...' - Smashes mug against the wall like he's in a movie.

Btw he looks like that Chris Evans from the BBC these days, only older and with no chin.

All his whining and victimhood is exactly what we'd expect him to do, while overembellishing or flat out lying. Just like he has about City fans who have upset him in the past. Meanwhile him and his cohorts can exploit their positions to target fans, like Rabin and others and they still think they hold the moral highground. They do think they are untouchable superheros some of these journalists, nobody can question them or their actions because they are beyond reproach, but they want everyone to be held accountable, even when they are well within their rights to defend themselves or their club.

It's good to know that the club have, indeed, been proactive behind the scenes. Ziegler's support for Harris makes me wonder if his employers have received a letter too. Anyway, fuck them. Have a merry Christmas blues.
I wouldn't read to much into support from Ziegler or other journalists. They are probably just showing support to a friend and former colleague who is struggling with mental issues after the loss of his wife.

Then they should be encouraging him to stop making a **** of himself on social media. That would be showing support.
Funny how these mental health issues only seem to manifest when he's trying to drag our club through the mud on a weekly basis.
He knows what he's doing.

It's depression. He's lost his wife and his career has nosedived. He spends time on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day ranting about us simply to try and forget everything else.

He was at it before his wife died.
You carry on making excuses for him if you like but I'll save my sympathy for anyone who is genuinely suffering and not picking and choosing who to lash out at depending on the attention it brings.

The absolute irony of claiming to be an investigative journalist and implying he's routing out all that is bad. Portraying himself as the saviour of truth. Not a hint of irony that he was happy to take a pay cheque from the Daily Mail, those bastions of honour and justice.

If investigative journalism means regurgitating others' comments and forming conclusions from illegally obtained and out of context edited emails, then we might as well all consider ourselves as practitioners.

He hasn't written anything remotely informative, let alone revealing with regard to Manchester City's financial conduct. He hasn't uncovered a single thing that hadn't already been revealed by others.

He is hardly alone in his pretence. Truly investigative journalists are a rare breed. He and his ilk are nothing of the sort hence his lack of career opportunities of late.

I will gladly retract all of the above should it turn out that he's been operating undercover as a raving buffoon for the last 10 years.

Harris is a fucking clown

He wants to make out like City’s lawyers are trying to silence him, as if he is some form of oppressed freedom fighter

He is free to say whatever he likes, as long as it is true. And as long as he’s confident he can prove it’s true in court if push comes to shove (noting that the burden would be on city to prove it wasn’t if it came to that)

Didn’t that other phallice Goldbridge claim to have received cease and desist letters from city that he promised to publish but never did?

Actually libel is now a pretty tough thing to sue over. For a company wishing to sue, they have to prove substantial loss of earnings and/or serious harm and effectively establish that the publisher lied.

In theory the burden of proof lies with the publisher but there are now more alternative reasonings such as 'genuinely held belief'.

Also, there's a 1 year timeframe in which to sue which starts at the date of the first publication of the allegation. Subsequent repetitions of the same allegation don't count if they by the same publisher and materially the same allegation.

Basically it has become easier to make subjective claims based on flimsier beliefs. There are pros and cons to that increased ease and Harris is exploiting that ease (as are many others). He would basically argue 'it looked convincing to me' and 'the allegations are out there already, I am hardly causing substantial damage'.

I would have more sympathy if he was asking a much wider question about football finance and morality, but he isn't. It's obsessive towards City and extremely blinkered. He is completely unable to countenance any possibility of innocence and he has never attempted to put forward the opposing view. When you have a good argument, you've usually got a very good grasp of the counterargument and you're not afraid to present it because you truly have assessed all angles. He clearly hasn't. It's not investigative journalism, it's rehashed, regurgitated, emotionally driven drivel. Just genuinely believed drivel.

The Sun revolved around the Earth cos the evidence said so... until that evidence turned out to be misperception of the facts.
Harris will still be trying to convince himself that City are guilty regardless of the enquiry outcome. It won't do his mental health any good at all.

I’m not sure I buy that. If they are concerned re welfare of a friend then send him all the supportive messages they wish, privately.

It’s naive in the extreme for Ziegler to publicly back him like that in the replies when his posts on X are basically an extension of him doing his job. He’s in a public forum. And for that reason I believe he knew full well what he was doing by replying in that way.

It's the new paradigm, it doesn't matter whether anything makes sense anymore, all that matters is one believes.
