PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Can we realistically be expected to start a new season with this unfounded, unfair and biased charge hanging over us? You'd have thought the Premiership would have been told in no uncertain terms to either put up or shut up by the start of next season else all charges should be dropped.

oh.... and substantial damages awarded to boot.

Very true it’s all speculation on what’s there, if it’s the same as what Uefa have it’s been played out within CAS and dismissed. If it’s a smoking gun that wasn’t there in 2020 why’s it taken so long for them to charge City and why are City fighting it if it’s some type of a slam dunk?

Agree if the pl have this smoking gun that UEFA didn't have than just charge City over that and forget the 115. Why go for 115 after 4 years of investigation and realise the charge sheet full of inaccuracies the day before the government white paper.

This is just madness and now the pl are trying to reduce investment in the pl clubs as well

Other thing is the Fordham image rights weren’t time bound on limitations which Uefa could have included in their charges but didn’t. It feels like the Premier League are hoping to throw enough shit and hopefully something will stick. The fall out for them if this goes tits up for them will be huge.

There doesn’t seem to be anyone out there countering the view put forward by Stefan from a legal side of things in regards to how difficult it will be for the Premier League to convince a 3 man panel to side with their view of the situation. All they have is opinion which conflicts with the hard information.

If these charges get consigned to the bin there has to be questions why the Premier League pursued this case and the resources thrown into it for well over 4 years.
It was all rushed out as a way of PL trying to prove they could self regulate and they made a complete mess of it

Stefan does say when talking about charges that we don't fully know what they've got if anything new

Nobody knows what they have, so he is right to say that. But he also says he thinks it is exceeding unlikely that the PL can prove the most serious charges and, if they can't, then most of the other charges won't have been proven either. And he is right to say that too.

Edit: There hasn't been one story in the press, as far as I can remember, that the PL are confident in their case and that they think they will prevail. Bearing in mind how that organisation leaks, that speaks volumes.
