General Election June 8th

Fair enough, if thats most important to you and you think thats what tories will do. I would probably believe that in 2010 but weve had a conservative "strong economy" for 7 years, doesnt really mean much if most people dont see any of it. Looking around it doesnt feel like a strong economy or...

    General Election June 8th

Ive never voted before because dont feel like any of them represented me, I live in a tight labour-conservative town and i just went to vote for labour. Mostly because I rely on monthly nhs treatment to live, since 2010 the tory cuts made it harder and harder for me to get treatment and stay...

    Effective Ticket Price Protest

Looks like Liverpool fans just got a 2 year ticket price freeze after the protest at the weekend. Direct action gets the goods.

There must be something better than the Daily Fail ?

It's a tough call, you either go for lots of transfer news 95% made up on the spot and written in potato prints in the daily mail and sun. OR you go for the grim harsh reality that really there isn't that much genuine transfer news ever - and read a newspaper like the guardian etc.

City Vs QPR The Final Game Post match Thread

Re: QPR fans I was in the qpr end (long story) and by pure chance next to another blue. We kept our cool for zabs and dzekos - but when Sergio scored couldn't control ourselves! Must have looked like a right pair of oddballs. On the whole the qpr fans were a good laugh, and joined in the...

Open arms for new fans !

Aside from glory, we are a quality footballing side now - a joy to watch! I think a lot of people will be drawn to us for that as much as the glory. If they're in it in order to watch beautiful football being played (you know kompany's bullet headers and dejongs wondergoals...) then i cant complain.

Should you always support your 'home' team?

Family are all mancs - but from rag-heartlands of the sarf, started supporting City when I was 11 in 1999 not long before that fateful day, I was only ever in it for the glory!

People whinging about 'Wonders of the Universe' now...

So they didnt strike did they. Extreme left? Pro Palestine? In what way is the BBC extreme left? Obviously aside from the chapters in the communist manifesto detailing celebrity ballroom dancing competitions, property swap programs, and the famous Stalinist propaganda tool "Cbeebies"...

    Does anyone teach English abroad?

You need a degree in Korea and I would imagine in Japan too. But a degree, means a degree in anything! I don't know about Japan, but in Korea the pay is quite good considering the low cost of living. You generally get paid from 15-25k your apartment is free, tax is 3% for teachers, bills are...

    Does anyone teach English abroad?

Hi I don't know too much about Japan, only that its really expensive! I did once have an interview to teach in Japan, but i couldnt make the interview, was with the JET scheme www.jet-uk.org - I...

This. These are the programs that sell - not dancing on celebrity ice jungles. And these are the programs which somewhat justify the fee.

    EDL

But how many actual islamic extremists are there in Britain? Probably not many actual extremists, theres only 2 million muslims. How much mainstream muslim support do islamic extremists in the UK get? I can't think of any mainstream muslim group which support islamic extremists. I've never once...

Posh and Posher: Public schoolboys and politics

I agree. I don't think that (the current or existing) grammar school system does this. I went to a State Grammar School and it was pretty much a quasi-private school. The majority of people came from private primary schools, house prices in the area are extraordinarily high due to wealthy...

Seriously, who complains about Frankie Boyle

I think he's good but maybe not clever enough to pull off a really funny subtle joke so he just reverts to shock. I can't dislike anything the Daily Mail complains about.

    Good Documentaries....

Adam Curtis' "Century Of The Self" series is really good. "The Yes Men" is awesome - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yes_Men_Fix_the_World Anything by John...

    Steroids

I've had to take prednisolone a few times, and it gives me bad stomach pain. Sounds like you should get to a doctor. But taking that many might give you stomach cramps, so you should maybe try get some Rennies and then maybe some Rabeprazole (like super medicinal rennies) from the Doctor. And...

    Government force charity upon us

There's me invoking politics from a political decision. No, you're right we're not being forced too atall, i wasnt saying we are going to be. Im just saying its a stunt to in some way recompense the charities which will almost definitely lose out because of political decisions. There's...
