    Tom Cruise, absolutely awful.

25 years ago today, I was watching The Beautiful South in Los Angeles.

A big influence on Joan Jett and The Runaways, she is also Sherilyn Fenn’s auntie.

I love them both, just love JD substantially more.

    Best music you've seen live

Out of the 100s of bands I’ve seen live, nobody comes close to James or The Cure. I’m more of an indie fan, so never seen the likes of Rush, Queen or anyone of that ilk.

Van Halen is not the type of music that I’m a fan of, but I recognise a rock legend when I see one. RIP Eddie

    L.A

And I see people recommending Vegas and San Francisco, they are both way dodgier than LA and you are more likely to be targeted for crime, as a tourist, in these two cities.

I go there for mine. :)

    L.A

Disingenuous? That’s my honest opinion, I probably know LA better than most. Would I suggest walking around Compton, while waving a wad of cash? No, but it’s not as dodgy as people make it out to be.

    L.A

All you mard arses saying how rough and dangerous L.A. is ? I’ve been here 32 years and never had a spot of bother, it certainly feels safer than Langley, where I grew up.

“Friends who drove us” In fairness, I’ve been called worse. You didn’t mention the celebrity sighting at the Cat and Fiddle.

    Punk and New Wave thread.

I saw him last Sunday in LA, he was brilliant, as were Theatre of Hate. Do yourself a favour and give Jay Aston a swerve, he sounded like a pissed up bloke doing karaoke.

    The Smiths & Morrissey thread

I know the author, Richard Houghton. He’s a blue and I didn’t contribute to the book.

Album you wish you were hearing for the first time.

What's the "poshest" area around Manchester....

When I first moved to America, I would tell Yanks that I grew up on the Langley Estate. Would make me chuckle that they assumed that this made me a bit posh, if only they knew the truth.
