what needs to happen for us to advance?

Assuming victories tonight and at Dortmund, that leaves 9 different possibilities for the final group standing, 2 of which eliminate City. Ajax need to win at least one of their remaining matches, or it's all over.

Blackburn Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Thought Milner played really well in the first half. Silva was Silva. Mario was fantastic. The interplay between Silva and Nasri before Nasri's goal almost made me feel pity for the Blackburn defenders.

    ESPN commentators

I agree with you once again. During the World Cup, when a bunch of American's that don't normally follow "soccer" pretend to care for a few weeks, commentators that normally do the football matches were trying to "convert" things to normal American words. It annoyed me. I get up at 6 or 7 on...

    ESPN commentators

You're right on both accounts. I don't have a problem with it. I suppose if I was watching ice hockey and the announcer kept calling a stick a "hockey club" or something, I'd be hacked off.

    ESPN commentators

As an American, I was embarassed by the commentators. Especially Taylor Twellman, who scored some nice goals in MLS but did fuckall for the national team. He was the one going on and on about how Balotelli crucified Christ and then started the holocaust. It was terrible. And they couldn't...

    From a new fan...

I've been supporting City for a few years now. A friend of mine here in Baltimore was starting a 5 a side team, and asked me to play. He also was looking for a team to support, his friend was trying to get him to support Arsenal (thank God he didn't do that) but also said City was an up and...

    Dave,s Insanity Sauce

According to wikipedia, Dave's is rated at 180,000 scoville units. Da Bomb comes in 2 strengths, the lower is 119,700 scoville units, but the Final Answer is 1.5 million. One time a customer was asking me which sauce was the hottest, a different customer overheard the question and chipped in his...

    Dave,s Insanity Sauce

When I saw this thread, I had to pop on and mention Da Bomb. I work for a store that sells several different hot sauces, and Da Bomb is by far the hottest one that we sell.

I thought he was one of the better Ivory Coast players at the World Cup.

    NBA Finals 2011

That's actually pretty similar to what we get over here, with the addition of the local NHL, NBA and MLB teams being on one of the local channels every game. But I don't really follow any of the teams where I live, so I don't watch them too often.

    NBA Finals 2011

Yup. Bosh was pretty much absent from the 2nd half of Game 1 and all of last night. Question: is it hard to watch American sports in England? I know that it's gotten a little easier to watch football thanks to FoxSoccerChannel, and the occasional match on ESPN. What's the reverse like? Sadly...

    NBA Finals 2011

I think Miller is better defensively, and bigger. Plus Jones went a bit cold in the 2nd half of the season. That's my guess. It was nice to see Bibby actually hit some shots last night.

    NBA Finals 2011

I was so annoyed that I couldn't get to sleep when the game was over last night. The Heat took their foot off the gas and thought they were far enough ahead to coast to victory. Ugh.

    NBA Finals 2011

Heat in 6. I've been a Heat fan since the mid 90's, the way people reacted to them this season reminded me a bit of the way people hate City for making the signings they do.

    How about a Yank?

Dempsey reminds me a lot of Bellamy, in both his skillset, his mentality, and his attitude. I love him on the National Team, but don't think he'd find much playing time at City. The US do have some up and coming youngsters that could benefit from some time with the reserves and may develop...

    James Milner

I thought he looked great last night. It seemed to me that he started off trying to do a bit too much, almost trying to prove himself, but then he settled in and was excellent. I really was hoping that he'd score as well.
