    Eberechi Eze

Surely the first priority should be at DM, then a replacement for Alvarez if he goes. I’d be much happier if we used them as part of a deal for Wharton instead.

    Anyone else feeling pretty confident?

Does feel like that one - hopefully KDB can repeat what Yaya did for us that day. I still miss peak Yaya at times like this, despite the quality of Kev, Phil, etc.

    Anyone else feeling pretty confident?

If Villa lose tonight, Spuds will have a big incentive to beat us - I think they’d be favourites to finish 4th going into the final day. Maybe them coming out and being positive would help us, but I’m still hoping Villa lock down 4th tonight.

    Anyone else feeling pretty confident?

They were very negative that day, but history will judge if it was the right call. Getting just a point could win them the league on GD, or cost them the league if we win the next two. Hopefully the latter and Arteta spends the summer regretting his lack of courage.

    The Title Race - 2023/24

This is not going to help our cause re their game with the Arse. He is clearly limited, but probably a better bet than the rest of their CBs (maybe bar Varane). Evans and Casemiro, anyone?

    Crystal Palace (A) - Sat 6th April, 12:30 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

A chance to turn up the pressure for sure. Not so sure about the rags. I know they're garbage, but they are unpredictable and have goals in them. I'm sure Klopp will be twitchy about this one.

    Aston Villa (H) - Wed 3rd April, 20:15 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

He was easily the best player on the pitch - massive positive from a flat game.

    Aston Villa (H) - Wed 3rd April, 20:15 | PL | Pre-Match Thread

We had no width for most of the game yesterday (bar Gvardiol), which made it easy for Arse to flood the middle and crowd Haaland out. Grealish made a big difference - he must start on Wednesday if he is fit enough.

    The Title Race - 2023/24

Villa are not in great form, McGinn is suspended and Watkins may well be missing. If we don’t win that one, we’ll have a mountain to climb. I think we’ll beat them comfortably.

    The Title Race - 2023/24

I think LFC’s results against the top 6 are worse than ours, and they’re top.

Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Agreed, but I think Kova next to Rodri could have given us that - big mistake by Pep to start with Alvarez (who was poor).

    The Title Race - 2023/24

I know what you mean, feels inevitable that they’ll keep winning, but don’t forget they failed a big test at AFC recently. Against the better teams they are vulnerable, particularly with their injuries. CFC bottled it today (no big surprise with Poch), but what I took from that game is that LFC...

RIP Bill Lyons (@Bill, previously @de niro) update re funeral pg 51/JustGiving link p52

Terrible news - the guy was a proper legend on here. Thoughts are with his family.

    Liverpool Thread - 2023/24

There’s about as much chance of Klopp going to the rags as there is Pep - never going to happen.

    Aston Villa (A) - Wed 6th Dec, 20:15 | PL | Pre Match Thread

Completely agree - having him in midfield is making us vulnerable. I’d consider starting him out wide tomorrow as we are short on options without Grealish/Doku, but then we miss his potential impact off the bench which we had earlier in the season. Going to be interesting to see what Pep comes...

FFS. From the Barella/FDJ excitement to this.

It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

Crikey. Eze would be massively underwhelming.
  19. K

Your ideal central-midfield signing for next summer ?

de Jong above all others for me - he would be ridiculously good in a Pep team, does everything. Rodri, de Jong, KDB/Foden = a dream midfield.

PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I’m sure that will be the clubs primary focus, but getting info out that will damage/discomfort the PL and the shit stirring clubs makes perfect sense to me. Making neutral fans (rightly) question the objectivity and competence of the PL will help to balance the scales. We don’t need to do it...
