We are not Real Madrid or Barcelona. We do not have much money to buy players but nevertheless we named best team in the world for two years running.

Sevilla are a really good club. Even with limited resources they have managed to produce/nurture players like Daniel Alves, Adriano Correira, Sergio Ramos, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo.

Marca claims City hope to sign Negredo by the 17th but also that it has been delayed - related to reported interest in Ibra or coincidence?

Estadio Deportivo says City will sign Negredo for "considerably less" than the £21.5million asking price with much of the fee paid at once.

Love that idea and it's a great way to help us navigate FFP. We can offer lower fees but at the same time offer most or all up front, which very few other clubs can manage.

Immediate cash inflow is a huge, huge, huge thing for the many financially struggling clubs in Europe.

Agreed, and, as you say, not a problem for us to offer a lower fee but in cash up front rather than a higher fee in instalments: we're constrained by accounting, not cash.

Bloke (missed his name) on Talkshite reckons Spurs are favourites for him

Edit: Paul Giblin from goal TV it was

Yep heard him say that but I think it was a mistake on his part, to his credit and others like him these interviews are so short half the time they are going from club to club player to player so quick mistakes are made!
