It concerns me that he is winning MOTM polls on the basis of performances that are what I would call decent but not spectacular. Just shows how off our game we are that no one is playing any better than that. We play like pre programmed robots at the minute.
He drags us forward single-handedly at times. He would look even better if our ancient midfield would provide more runs around him

Against Leipzig Grealish dribbled through the middle and found Haaland. It was 1 of the few times it happened. Move Jack inside with Kev or push Kev to the right hand side. Stop the inverted wingers and city will play with a lot more purpose. Pep needs to bite the bullet on our possession. He is terrified of counter attacks and has nullified our attacking capabilities.

I don’t think he will change anything but if he did we could be back to a somewhat formidable team even with the issues we have.

If he’s terrified of counter attacks why do we keep losing to them as a consequence of his set up and the fullback experiments

Does anyone think like me that Jack has improved both his tackling and confidence of late and that could mean him moving into a more central role?

I said in the post match thread that if we went 4-3-3 with Kev, Rodri and Jack deeper and Phil, Erling and Julian up top it would be very exciting and a nod to the future. I think it would offer increased fluidity and better work rate to help when we are out of possession. Bellingham ultimately would be ideal to take Kev's role. It seems likely that Bernie and Gundo may be off so it's a progression and I would love to see Pep give it a go. We have to get the best out of our best assets and currently we are not.
yes his defensive game has improved immensely. probably the best tackler in our side. most hardworking winger as well. his stamina is levels above any of our midfielders right now. will be immense in the middle I think, but pep should give him freedom to make it work. sadly I don't think pep wants people in the middle taking any risk except KDB. pep is really holding back our side from evolving currently.

I think we are over coached, no joy or spontaneity in our play this season

Brilliant point. Jack has improved, but if his current levels are our current best, well then that is troubling.

His work rate this season has been almost Bernardo like. Just needs to add a few more goals and assists to his game. He’s been great recently
He’s got everything going for him I think he’ll get a lot better, sure I heard something about he’s signing the biggest boot deal in the history of football plus he gets millions from Gucci,he’ll be here well into his 30’s

Again, pure passion. I remembered a lot of people saying his pressing and energy are not that great (and I kinda agree with that), so seeing how much he has improved is amazing, and I think he will just continue to get better. Mahrez and Foden will ha to fight for the other spot, because Grealish is an automatic starter in my book.

He was bought to replace Bernardo, or at least so we were told, and you need a high work rate in mid/low table teams like Villa.

I would still love to see him properly in midfield, but I think he’s coming in more and more so it’s less urgent.

Don't think he gets enough credit for his size and stature, on the strength he shows on the ball

You've got to have some balls to keep taking the ball knowing a foul is coming, but the way he moves the ball is brilliant

Slowly coming into his own now and will get better as the season goes on, now he's getting the consistency in starts and performance levels

He's as strong as an ox,i actually think he thrives on the challenges that come his way.
There's been a couple of challenges in recent matches where I've felt he was lucky to be able to get up and walk away without any kind of significant injury, just his constantly scuffed knees.

Obviously no-one's invincible but he must be strong, training and warming up well to be able to keep taking those impacts.

I thought he had a fairly quiet game today as the bulk of our play was going down the right. But pressed well, tracked back well, was tidy on the ball and looked to move it forward.

Every time he drifts central and plays one of those balls through the lines I feel like we're getting a little glimpse of the midfielder that's in there. But I don't know if we'll ever fully see it.
