Man if that was a Mahrez performance he’d be getting ragged.
You need to stick to NFL, as (proper)football is not for youMan if that was a Mahrez performance he’d be getting ragged.
How Carvajal didn't get a yellow for pushing jack I don't know.Thought Carvajal got in his head a bit tonight but no surprise when he got shoved into the advertising boards at full speed only for the ref to act like he never saw it. Have him on toast back at our place, Jack.
If he gets a yellow early it changes the momentum as the defender becomes cautious and Grealish would have become more confident to attack that areaHow Carvajal didn't get a yellow for pushing jack I don't know.
But the thing is he should have already been on a yellow and been sent off for that. I hope next weeks ref has big enough balls to ref the game fairly.
I agree. The ref turned a blind eye but there's no surprise there. If he gets a yellow early it changes the momentum as the defender becomes cautious and Grealish would have become more confident to attack that area
Yes I agree w u here completely, especially the part about Phil Foden.First half, offered basically nothing in attack and didn't do his defensive work well, kept pointing to akanji down the line as in he would cover the inside then just stopped tracking. Second half, still offered nothing going forward but did at least sort his defensive work out.
I'd want to see foden start the second leg, carvajal is somebody he would absolutely rinse, you can get penalties or red cards from him if you go at him.
I don't see any point attacking Carvajal because the ref (cu*t) would never show him any color and Carvajal would just kick around our players to stop ANY attack.Yeah I thought that also, but again Carvajal was allowed to kick him without getting punished and most of time Carvajal was having help.
Didn't offer anything going forward but thought he was very good defensively

Understanding the finer points of what is needed in a particular game is clearly not your forte - No coincidence that Real - who usually have a field day attacking an opponents left side - were kept quiet at home in one of the seasons biggest game down that flank. Jack focussed on making sure Manuel was not exposed and his work rate was phenomenal.Man if that was a Mahrez performance he’d be getting ragged.

They doubled up on him when we had the ball which tells me how much of a threat they thought he was. Last night it was about work and team first. Maybe Riyad & Phil should have come on for a short time but I have no issue keeping hold of the away draw and Jack & Bernardo were big parts of that defensive effort.
Jack's easily distracted into playing in a sub-plot game of fouls and retribution, thereby becoming ineffective. Madrid 'played' him last night.
But what if that was the plan all along for the two legs?Defensive effort great, attacking threat not so good.
I think Jack and Bernardo were both sensible picks for a conservative team with the handbrake on but we can't afford another team performance like that at the Etihad.
2nd leg will likely be slightly more risky, with one of the above perhaps starting.
