Yet another game without him where we have no real shape and spend ages rushing moves and giving it away. Second most important player after Rodri.
What? You kidding? He has been average all season when he has played bar a handful of games. He has been nowhere near the player he was last season and that’s why he hasn’t been playing. Injuries haven’t helped but his form was patchy when he wasn’t injured. We have plenty of players more important than him.

Yes, and a regular theme of this season has been us not producing our best football and often lacking the control that defined the biggest games of our treble-winning season. The best performances and runs of this current season have come during periods when Jack has been fit and able to contribute.

Let's look at our defeats in the league this season:

Wolves away. Grealish gets 10 mins.
Arsenal away. 0 mins.
Villa away. 0 mins.

And now let's look at our record in the league when Grealish has started:

W vs. Newcastle
W vs. Sheffield United
W vs. United
W vs. Luton
D vs. Palace
W vs. Sheffield United

It was like night and day against Copenhagen, the difference in our performance before and after Grealish went off. Just go back to the thread for the game. We were purring against Copenhagen and ripping them apart with Grealish on the pitch, as soon as he went off it become more of a contest and they got back into the game. We ran out winners in the end but it was a hard-fought game after Grealish went off.

You just keep trying to bury your heads when it comes to how crucial Grealish is to this team.

Kev and eddie and john say hi
Nope, don't agree. If all three of these lads were missing at the same time then all three of their absences combined would be more important than us not having Grealish in the team. But Ortega, Foden, or Kovacic would more than make up the difference if one of De Bruyne, Ederson, or Stones happened to be missing for the odd game (as they have done on many occasions while De Bruyne and Stones have been injured). But at the moment we have nobody else on the left wing who can provide for us what Grealish does and as a team we are being severely impacted by it in a way we haven't been by De Bruyne or Stones' injuries so far this season. Doku will get there in time, and he showed good signs of getting there last night, but not yet. Grealish always second on the teamsheet for me.

Its become as clear as the nose on your face. Just look at the 15 mins v Copenhagen. Fluid, controlled possession. We're at our best when we're like a Boa Constrictor, just squeezing the life out of team. Watching us struggle to dominate teams in his absence has made it clear just exactly what he gives us.

I've been critical of Jack in the past, I think his contribution in the final action needs to improve (ie his shooting and final ball) but in the build up he is essential.

So why hasn’t Pep been playing him?

A bit like Laporte whose reputation grew the less he played.

Because he's been injured, coming back from injury, suspended, or dealing with family issues for the majority of the season. When he's been fit, he's played.
I think this is what Pep was alluding to in his fitness comment. I don't think he is criticising Jacks weight, drinking or training, but more that Jack has had an injury/niggle and wasn't over it but he declared himself fit

Hmm I wonder who else didn't play that game. Oh yeah, it is Rodri!! The second most important player of the squad... you should neve comment on Grealish because clearly you are too biased to be taking seriously.
