Some very fucking short memories in this thread. He's returning from injury, clearly not match fit, lacking rhythm.

Is he playing like he did last season? No, not yet and he started last season slowly. But he clearly is Pep's man, and he was one of the key guys in us winning the lot last season.
Clearly not match fit, and can see why Pep wanted to get minutes in his legs but his decision making last night was poor

Thankfully we haven't short memories. Remember well his first season which was instantly forgettable. The first couple of months last season which were also poor, then he hit a purple patch when he finally looked the part only for his form to tail off again at the business end of the season culminating in 2 no shows in the cup and champions league finals. And now we are back to the beginning again.
At least he has genuine competition for the wide left role so let's see if he's up to the challenge. Even on his good days the end product needs improving on.

"Back at the beginning"

He's been injured for a month. Last night was his third 90 of the season. Give him a fucking chance

Pretty much.

Last night was an opportunity for fringe players and players just back from injury to get some minutes in.

I would still have expected better from him (and others) but people are predictably going over the top.
There are certain players who can never win with a certain contingent of our supporters. It was the same with Sterling, it will forever be the same with Grealish.

"Remember last season when he was really good?"
"Nah forget that, what about his first season when he was shit"

Would have liked to see a bit more from him considering he was one of the few first team regulars out there. As soon as Bruno and Gordon came on in the second half their players lifted their levels and we needed Jack to come and get on the ball more and lead the team. He's just coming back from injury so there's mitigation, but a shame he wasn't able to be a bit more influential.

Seriously

Grealish got a hip injury against Real Madrid, could not train for days and played the finals carrying it. You wrote it like he lost his form deliberately!

Sometimes I wonder why we have some worst "fans".
