Grealish is ok as a regular starter long as you have a high scoring Gundo another winger like Mahrez putting up decent numbers and also KDB scoring quite a lot and setting up even more for others.

we had none of these this season so far so I completely understand why Pep is happy to give many minutes to Doku who probably is ahead of the "schedule" a bit in terms of finding his feet at City.

I wish Nunes and Kovacic would chip in with a few goals, assists but they wont will they?
same with Grealish, this is an ongoing topic with him, he mentioned himself multiple times about improving his output numbers, but then also happy to pass it back rather than make things happen himself.

having said that when you are behind or chasing for a winner you want Doku on based on current form.
Get your tin hat out Dam..

Can’t help but love this lad.

Judging by some of the pure poison on this thread, some City fans manage not to even like him just fine.

This Utd fan gave him more respect in this conversation than a good percentage of our own fans do. I'm sure Jack got as much out of this meeting as the fan, and I'm really happy for him, particularly after waste-of-oxygen Southgate's usual shitty treatment.

3rd year into a 5 year contract, I am sure this is the time extensions and such would be being discussed, I wonder if he will have got that extension or if we might look to recouping some of the £100m by moving him on. I suppose a lot will depend on the rest of the season.

I felt he played very well vs scum and he does give us a greater amount of control vs DOKU. However Last season where we had Gundo, Mahrez & KDB to offer more creativity I feel that when Jack plays we do lack a bit of a killer instinct.

Interesting to see how it develops, if he does leave, I wouldn't be particularly bothered, not like losing Gundo.

Blows my mind how he will never be appreciated by some City fans. How his creativity is wilfully not seen. I’ve been reading comments all over Twitter this morning by fans of other clubs saying how they wish they had Jack playing for them. God we must look so entitled.

Honestly, some City fans are just determined to compete for Cnut of the Year.

Grealish Supporters don't seem to have the ability to be subjective when developing an opinion of a playing performance.

In his position he should be generating more assists as a minimum.

Can’t get an assist if player you’re trying to assist doesnt put the ball in the net. From the games he’s played this season he should’ve had at least 10 assists already but all the chances he’s put on a plate have been missed.

Exactly. Grealish detractors don’t have the ability to understand this. They’re too obsessed with G/A without the context.

And to be frank, any City fan who doesn’t care about his presence at the club is an entitled prick. He’s become absolutely essential to our team and it’s actually embarrassing to see City “fans” on social media denigrate him.

Seems other players manage to get assists though and even manage to score from time to time, Grealish doesnt.

Calm down, just because Pep disagrees with you and wont start Grealish in front of Doku doesnt make him an entitled prick, its rather rude to say so if you ask me.

That's great ,just not true as we will probably see the next 2 games and most of the big games as we go through the season.

Oh were discussing historical performance, I wasnt aware, many apologies.

If we look at his direct competition and in the here and now...

Has Doku won anything with us yet? He’s started amazingly, but he’s not always the answer, as we saw versus Chelsea.

This isn’t a Doku thread though, this is the Grealish thread, which is why I compared his full season’s league stats versus our right sided version in Bernardo. They’re wide playmakers, not wingers.

Playing Doku and Alvarez cedes some control of games.

Can’t you read properly? I didn’t call Pep the entitled prick.

First heard of the lad when he was at Villa and was "caught" pissed up out cold in Tenerife and thought he was just another fairly talented lad who was gonna blow it by letting it all go to his head.

Thankfully - not just for our sake but for his too - I was wrong and he has turned out to be a great player but also a really decent human being. This is the latest example of him just giving back to his sport and to fans in general. An asset to the club.
