Makes me think, is it a) laziness or b) some kind of physical or stamina limitation that he has that means his tracking back/defensive ability is so poor? And before his injury too - it’s not a new thing. Certainly speed-wise he’s very quick over 10 yards but over distance and I’d have most other players outrunning him.

Not sure anyone is writing him off. Like all new players, it takes them time to adapt. Learning the need to run is paramount though.

We need pace on the wings , none of our wingers have pace or dribbling ability to take on the fullback . Pep singling him out for criticism will be bad for his confidence.

We won a treble last year without "pace" on the wings (actually Grealish is very fast, he just takes a while to get going). People wanting to see "pacey" wingers because they enjoy it does not mean this team needs them to win.

Watch the situation. Doku beats Matip close to the byline, Haaland misses, and they score from the counter. It's silly to suggest Doku was at fault for the draw and might cost us the title due to not tracking back in this situation.

Why because he didn’t chase back twice, he’s 21 yrs old, he’s been here and in this country 6 months, he’s still adjusting to how Pep wants his players to play, let’s not forget it took Mahrez, Jack and Rodri a full season to learn the “Pep Way”. We will see a different player for sure next season, stronger and faster. I can remember Mourinho saying the exact same comments about Kev when he was manager of Chelsea, look how that worked out.

Most of that post is sensible but needing more than 6 months at 21 to know to track back is hilarious
