To who? He rarely has options.Frustrates me when he skins a defender only to stop, and has to then beat him again. Needs to play the ball earlier once he’s away.

Even less options when he delays and allows the defenders back in position. To who? He rarely has options.
Unfortunately on the rare occasions he dies have options he still hits the first defender. Brightons right back worked him out by about the 60 min mark yesterday. Same as Savinho, he looks electric on the ball but neither produce anything when it matters. WorryingTo who? He rarely has options.
It's typically the centre back blocking him after he beat the right back. The right back didn't get near him all game.Unfortunately on the rare occasions he dies have options he still hits the first defender. He's delaying because he often doesn't have a player to pass to.Even less options when he delays and allows the defenders back in position.
It is funny because everybody liked this kind of winger over a Grealish because it is exciting but as we have seen, has little end product
Doku appears to have everything you need in the locker to be a world class winger apart from the final ball/Finish. I think part of problem is decision making but another part is we are trying to pick out a single player in the box with few if any runners from deep or Savinho coming in from a wide position. Same problem and issues with Savinho whilst Bernardo tends to not cross at all and plays backward too often. Would persevere with Doku but we need another more productive option and need to keep playing Marmoush plus another midfielder who is willing to get in or around the box.Even less options when he delays and allows the defenders back in position.
Created the most chances in the CL the year we won it. That controlled approach proving to be the most successful in our history. We then got the fast exciting wingers that offer next to fuck all once past their man. Can't see much difference really if there is no end product either wayJack has no end product and isn't entertaining.
Rapidly coming to the conclusion that it isn’t Doku who has some sort of anomalous flaw in his final product, it’s the structure of this team that completely wastes his ability (and that of some others).
Every time a Brighton wide player beats a man or breaks, they flooded the forward position with options. This is based on their superior athleticism but also on structure and coaching.
Don’t forget, when the cross came in near the end of the game, it was Baleba, the holding midfielder, who had killed himself qr that stage of the game to run past all of city’s midfield and get on the end of it (let’s ignore the finish).
And in numerous other occasions, someone in their wide positions does well and lifts his head up to see several options.
Doku beats players far more often than anyone else and constantly looks up to see two more players closing him down, rather than worrying about marking other players arriving.
I think he would have looked like a world beating if he was playing for the opposition yesterday, as he would have had multiple options every time he beat the full back, either when in a crossing position or when breaking from deep.
And it’s not just Brighton who are doing this. It’s loads of teams, and that’s why we look so vulnerable to them.
Doku should lift his head and look before he passes the ball. It is a basic flaw. It should have been coached out of him by now. Savio is the same. There were times yesterday when we had three spare men in the box and our wingers could not find them.Rapidly coming to the conclusion that it isn’t Doku who has some sort of anomalous flaw in his final product, it’s the structure of this team that completely wastes his ability (and that of some others).

I'm not sure if Doku could develop into a player who could start in their team. Their wingers' tasks are not single-mindedly going forward as dribblers/ball carriers, are they? They create chances for others and attempt to score goals by themselves. But more notably, both wingers are heavily tasked with defensive duties as well. They run the flanks basically from one end to the other for 90mins. In the case of the left winger, depending on opponents, he often comes inside as a scorer, as no.8/10, a playmaker & IH. It is difficult to imagine Doku would have lasted 60mins playing like that as their starter, week in and week out.
I suppose that Brighton are not the only team playing this way. But echoing Pep's words, together with Pedro and Rutter, they possess one of the best attacking front in the PL.
I get that, but even a quarter of the numbers Sterling put up each season would suffice from him. He's very erratic when it comes to the clutch moments; this isn't a problem exclusive to Doku, but some of the others have credit in the bank from previous. We had a different team and style of play back then. We are now so static up front it's ridiculous.
