That was the best goalkeeping performance I have seen in years from a city goalkeeper! It reminded me of prime Joe hart!

A lot of people aren't going to like this, but I really don't rate Ederson as a goalkeeper...

For the way we play - playing out from the back, and even for the occasional long ball up field to launch an attack - he is brilliant, and he's perfect for us, and I'm glad we've got him. But, as a goalkeeper, I don't think he is brilliant, and when Pep goes and we change the way we play, I think he will have to go too.

How many of those saves Ortega made last night would Ederson have conceded? We'd have drawn, or even lost, that game.

I'm not saying Ortega should be the new number one, but the commentator for Sky last night said "Should Ederson be worried about his place?" and the other commentator laughed and flatly went "No."

Not saying Ederson should be worried about his place, but I think he certainly has some real competition now - whereas our previous number 2 goalkeepers were never really going to threaten him.

Edit: Just read back a couple of pages and seen people writing similar things, so maybe not as controversial as I thought! Phew!

Thought he was Spanish. Outstanding performance yesterday.

Think his mum is German and his dad is Spanish hence is last name.

We need to keep him as long as we can. Hard to keep hold of no. 2 keepers for very long, especially if they’re as good as Ortega. Complete performance last night. Not just the saves, but the calmness on the ball and the passes he picked out were top class.

Couldn't believe he was only 30, don't know why just assumed he was a few years older for some reason

I think Ederson should be looking over his shoulder, as from what I saw last night, Stefan is also very good with the ball at his feet, just not to the level Ederson is

Another great signing by the club, who adds real depth to that position, and another one where we wouldn't be too concerned if Ederson was to get an injury

Finally, a goalkeeper who stops the ball going in the net. How refreshing.

Ortega is pushing hard for that number 1 spot very very good shot stopper and all round keeper very impressed.
