19 | Ilkay Gundogan - 2024/25

Like he looked against Brentford, he was poor and looks older than 33.

However, he was still involved in a lot of pkay, even though almost none of it came off for him, he was still involved more than the other two midfielders.

There is no way himself or Pep expected him to have to become important so soon after arriving. I am sure Gundo was just going to be a leader in the dressing room, capable of cup games and weaker CL opponents and maybe some premier league action as a sub or the odd start.

Now we are down our two most important midfielders, the rest look a bit out of sorts and he is being thrown into some difficult games.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

A bad few games in front of goal but it will click and he can still play an important part. Without De Bruyne or Phil at his best, hopefully it happens soon.

I can't believe he didn't play Haaland in from that Pope error still. His decision making is usually spot on, just a real off day for him on Saturday and I can't think of any other games where he was as sloppy!
