I can feel the Haaland-Alvarez, big man, little man combo blossoming. That assist to Haaland is a sign of things to come.

It’s a plus that he’s such a relentless and willing presser from the front. If he can just add a bit more on knowing when to press forward and when to stay back in shape and cut off passing lanes then perfect.

There was a moment I think Vs arse that I wished it was Alvarez rather than haaland pressing the keeper. His pressing is great Love the guy. I'd have them both in every game

Pep did say last season he has to find a way to play Alverez and Haaland

Pep did say last season he has to find a way to play Alverez and Haaland

He really does because on last nights evidence and the CS he is a way off solving it.

I like both as individuals, but playing both as a duo i think lessens our midfield creativity and our team cohesion.

Hopefully its just a case of needs must presently while others get up to speed or reinforcements are bought.

Seems to have become the forgotten man amidst all the transfer talk and treble celebrations.

If he follows the Pep template of slightly underwhelming first season followed by meteoric second season rise to glory then this is one player I'm really excited about for next season.
Slightly underwhelming first season ?

The world has gone mad ! Haha

He was fucking amazing ! Underwhelming is insane talk
Given the circumstances, his age, first season abroad, playing time, playing out of position, no Summer break, possible World Cup hangover (none BTW) I'd say he was nothing short of remarkable. This kid works his ass off and is incredibly humble considering his accomplishments to date. Any Blue who doesn't appreciate this fella needs to give their head one hell of a wobble...

He scored a shit load of goals considering all you mentioned (couldn’t be bothered writing it all out in my original response lol) and limited game time - partly due to a machine in front of him……I am astounded anybody thinks he had anything other than an amazing first season.

And I forgot to mention playing in a system that's notoriously difficult to pick up in year 1 even for some of the most talented players coming in...Unfortunately nothing on BM astounds me anymore in terms of opinions, LOL...
