Spot on. A foreign player based in England misbehaving isn’t half as newsworthy so you’re less likely to see stories about it. Certainly not on the front pages.

Plenty of other professions / areas where this kind of behaviour is commonplace as well:

Politics (way, way worse than football)
The media
The world of celebrity, luvvies, acting etc
Other sports - have a look at horse racing just for starters, some of the behaviour by top trainers, jockeys etc over the years makes Kyle Walker look amateur

Basically where there is money, fame and power, this kind of stuff happens more often than in society in general. It’s (the darker side of) human nature.

So while I don’t condone Walker at all for his behaviour (who does!), it’s just a fact that as an English footballer he will make the front pages with his indiscretions more easily than most.

The fact he’s in his thirties now is the most damning aspect of it. A rich successful young lad in his 20s and you can kind of expect it but it looks like he’s not learnt anything over the years sadly. And five kids with two women…wear a fucking condom.

And that’s only the five we know about.

Regardless of feelings about infidelity, this is something that the team and squad could do without. This is negative PR, unwanted social media attention, and an excuse for rivals to have a pop.

I remember one of the players talking about the influence that the wives and girlfriends had on the atmosphere in the team. One of the wives had created a WhatsApp group and the group started to socialise regularly away from the players. This could affect that atmosphere. Let's hope not.

Players won’t give a shit and the wives won’t give a shit (not that it would even matter if they did)

I’m really, really, really sorry for this but @Blue Steel …….. wear a f*****g condom….I just spat out my toast before I choked. *innocent smile* I thought that’s what they were for? For that f word. ;-) :-)
Haha - I’m always of the opinion if people want to shag around, fine … but just use bloody contraception. It’s the most selfish act to have so many kids out of it because the children are the ones who end up suffering the most as they have no agency over what has happened. Someone who has been cheated on can at least walk away and move on with their lives, but the kids will forever be linked with the parent in question.

Then again I don’t think enough people put enough thought into reproduction full stop.

With footballers, its not about which player is having an affair, but the million dollar question is which player is not having an affair. I can't think of another profession outside of other sports where its this commonplace.

At times it feels like being unfaithful is part of the package of being a top english footballer.
The most popular sport and our players play in the most popular league. Footballers that play in this country are easy targets. Most blokes eye up nice looking girls in bars, imagine what footballers are like when girls look back in return with pound signs in their eyes.

I just read a post from an acquaintance on another forum who reckons his wife is pregnant so maybe 5.5 soon to be 6?
From decades ago…Ex Mrs JASR was in child social services - there’s a bloke out there called ‘John Smith’ who had (at that time) 5 kids with 5 different mothers… which is bad.. but this next bit throws even more light on the situation… the kids are all boys… and they have all been named ‘John Smith’

Frustrates me when stuff like this comes out. Been a great servant for us but clearly has the morals of a sewer rat. Just hope the distraction doesn't affect the rest of the team.

I only really notice/care about our players and personnel so this may be a stupid question: Is it noticeable that the majority of players that get ‘caught’ up in this type of scandal are English/British players or is that my imagination?

p.s. I would not want anyone to think from my earlier posting (about 4 or 5 above this) that I am defending Kyle I was just trying to point out that basically I never believe anything 100% unless I saw it with my own eyes. The media, as we can all testify, has a tendency to lie (allegedly) and very definitively exaggerate especially when it is our player. :-)
I think this situation has also gotten more press because the “other woman” is well known. As an American, I also see stories like this about footballers from other countries probably more than you all do - I do think the media tends to concentrate on their own national players. For example, After the WC last year there were tons of stories about Rodri de Pauls love life - same with Alexis MacAllister in my social media feeds. But didn’t see much of anything about either in the British media I consume.

This is a family matter which should be dealt with privately. I fail to see how this should be brought to the public and made into a spectacle. As far as I know this is not criminal behavior, morally reprehensible obviously but not something for anyone to lose their mind over. I am actually slightly amuse by the reaction of many people here.

Something is clearly impacting his work performances this season.

Probably right - I read a newspaper article from a paper I don't want to link yesterday though and it sounds like kyle's long term bit on the side loves the attention of it all - dropping clues on her instagram page as to Kyle being the father, and recently saying she's glad she can share all this with her 'insta family'. Sounds a right twat

That’s Kolo Toure hiding in a shower whilst having an affair.
Whoops I thought you were meaning me being nosy. :-) :-)

I didn’t know that about Kolo. He was never one of my favourites……..(*Tongue in cheek time*) partly because he scored that all important goal at Wembley when I’d gone to the toilet!!! ;-)

Could be age creeping and a drop in confidence it happens to all players and sometimes has nothing to do with off field activity albeit IMO he has in the vast majority of games he has played done what is expected of him this season.

Pep plays no favourites if he didn't think his form warranted he would put in someone else and make him earn his spot back despite the size of the squad and numbers who can play his role.

Maybe it is a family matter this time but it’s the latest in a long line of stupid offences by this imbecile . In my eyes after what he did during Covid was enough to get rid of him because at the time people were losing loved ones and making sacrifices to keep people safe whilst this dickhead did what he did with total disregard for anyone else .
