Because not getting Cucu changes the plan for him, he supposed to be on Girona on loan as CFG player.

That's what was speculated at the time. The reality is he came to the first team so he was never a CFG player. IMHO he's been a bit better than expected all things considered. He isn't the first player to make a mistake like yesterday's and he won't be the last. He's 21 years old learning a new position in a highly demanding tactical system and people on here are tripping over themselves to slag him off. BTW, for all the football experts on here moaning about Gomez I suggest you watch the game a bit more judiciously and realize it was a terrible Rodri turnover that led to everyone being caught out and the Gomez foul. The front runner on the ensuing counter happened to be in his lane. That's why he was last man, because they were all caught out.

If it were up to you we’d have sold Rodri, Gündogan, Grealish, Mahrez, Zinchenko, Aké, Rodri, Cancelo after their first season too.

Imagine thinking a 21 /22 year old bedding in to the best team in the world is an “excuse”.

Gundogan, Mahrez, Zinchenko, Ake, Rodri and Cancelo didnt have bad seasons though, the quality was obviously there.

Any of our FBs and CBs has made bad mistakes. Walker got a red in his 2nd game with us. Shit happens. Gomez has good qualities. If he doesn't grow as a LB, we'll sign another player. Too early to judge his ability. I think he's likely to come good.
