I think it was a team error based on lack of cover provided when Fernandinho stepping higher up. look t Dias position when Vinicius about to receives the ball.

way high up basically man marking Modric.

aalso Ederson stays put and waiting Vinicius to come close instead forcing him to a harder/riskier finish.

not all on Fernandinho at all. we need to be able to be beaten on the wing so high up and still defend the situation with the other players.
 
I think we got Ferna when he was about 28, after he partly paid for his own transfer. Since then he has turned into a legend, and a fearless leader on and off the pitch.

So it was wonderful to see him score today. It’s up for debate as to whether he deserves a statue or some other form of recognition. He’s been that good for us.

If he scores the winning goal at Champs League Final, he will undoubtedly deserves the statue.
 
I think I'm right in saying that if we win the Premier League and Champions League this season then he would be the most decorated player in the club's history.

So far he has won:

4x Premier League
1x FA Cup
6x League Cup

Sergio is currently the most decorated with:

5x Premier League
1x FA Cup
6x League Cup
 
If it's true that he's definitely leaving this summer then it's a bit of a shame we couldn't win the Champions League this season as it'll be another club legend leaving without it.

Not that I think they needed to win a cup competition to achieve that status amongst City fans because the likes of Kompany, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero and Fernandinho are all legends in my eyes regardless but it still would've been nice to see them win it here.

Hopefully Kevin gets to lift it as he's arguably the greatest player to ever play for the club.
 
He was brought on out of sentimentality. After his abysmal performance in the first leg, he should have been nowhere near the pitch. Pep CL moment of fiasco has to come to pass, if not in the starting line-up we witness it in the subs. Sadly, that was the case last night yet again.
 
Don’t think he did much wrong last night. The game at the Etihad was a mixed bag playing in an unfamiliar position. Brilliant for Foden goal and poor for Vinícius’s goal but so were others
 
Can’t expect to win the champions league when relying on a 37 year old to play rb. Mixture of unlucky injuries and poor recruitment.

Legend though!

He was brought on to provide some leadership and experience, nothing to do with sentimentality.

Obviously it didn't work and we collapsed like we always do, but it was hardly an insane decision from the manager
 
The post match hug with Pep spoke volumes,both very aware that another golden opportunity had been blown.

This man deserved better,he deserved that medal and honour on his CV.

We didn’t really need leadership in that moment though. We were in full control and had no need to break the rhytm. Pep rarely makes changes when we’re in control and now he made a huge change as it changed the system a bit as well. I can’t remember any game where we’ve played Rodri, Dinho and Gundogan in midfield, probably because they dont really work well together. And when it got to extra time Pep were now forced to sub Rodri (who was great) to get Bernardo back in midfield again.

I could see the point in the sub if he made it right after Real’s first goal. Then we needed leadership and could do with a longer break to clear our heads and slow down their momentum a bit. Now we didnt have anymore subs to make to break that rhytm and instead we ended up with a midfield trio that barely played together and a forward trio that’s never(?) played together.

It was a very uncharacteristic substitution from Pep and the only reason I can come up with is sentimentality. It wasn’t a direct reason we lost the game but I’m sure our chances to win in extra time would be much bigger with Mahrez and Rodri on the pitch and impossible to know what would’ve happend in normal time had he not made that change but we probably don’t lose.
