You need to factor in the opposition. When he performs against a challenger either domestically or in a meaningful match in the champions league you may have a point
To be honest that kind of backs up my point. I'm not trying to say that performance makes him an instant starter or a brilliant signing suddenly (I know you aren't saying otherwise) but more so highlighted his potentially assets to the team. His off the ball running/movement in behind from midfield can only really be matched by Kev and gundo before. It's something we've massively lacked this year. His issue previously was he/the team hadn't made the most of the runs enough but today he did and when de bruyne came on there was suddenly somebody finding him. Positive signs with more than enough so far to show he can be a good player for us.

This is true.
I like the analogy of Rodri someone mentioned, remember when some City fans were calling him Plodri.
Now look at him.
There is some reason why Pep won't play Kalvin, maybe he refuses to adapt or something whereas Nunes is following Pep's instructions in training so he's getting chances. I personally think Nunes will fit well for us eventually.
The last few posts disappoint me, he's only been here 5 minutes.
It's not easy slotting into the worlds best team.
But it's easy for some of the biggest blowhards in our fanbase to come on here talking trash...SMH

I think you read too much in to it.

Its a football forum and people have opinions.
Its fair to say nunes has had a below average start to his city career. I know it can take some time for players to find their feet in a very detailed system , gundo a perfect example of this. But we are allowed to call out and question players, and managers, and owners. It is, after all, our club, not theirs.
So to say people have an agenda because they are saying it as they see it isnt great.

Kovacic is only now showing rare glimpses of what he can maybe do.
Gvardiol looks cumbersome at left back.
Nunes is still a confusing buy to me.

there … i said it. No agenda. Just opinions and i hope more that anything they prove me wrong
Some just don't really know what they're talking about and some make it an agenda to support the fact that they don't know what they're talking about...

The only one who needs to do any factoring is Pep. What anyone on here thinks means fuck all to those actually making the decisions...there are opinions, discussion points, questions, etc. fair enough but then there's just outright witless stupidity that seems to be posted repeatedly just to aggravate the majority of those on here.

Close the board down, no ones allowed an opinion !

Struggling to adapt. He has time on his side for now.

The same could be said for a few players, some aren't going to be the linchpin in those big games.

Nunes is not a player likely to be the difference is us winning at Anfield, beating Bayern over 2 legs, or winning us an FA cup final. What he will be, is a valuable member of the squad who offers something which we don't have in abundance; the ability to drive forward with the ball, as well as make runs in behind a packed solid defence.

Those saying he has real potential, aren't saying he's going to be a Kev, a Bernardo or a Rodri; you don't get that for £50m.

Speaking for me, I don't mind constructive criticism, fair criticism. But when posters just come on and label a recently bought player as shit "we've been shopping at Aldi" kind of comments it's annoying and unfair.
It's hard for some players to adapt to Pep's systems of play. Especially when they only play sporadic games....I know shit about tactics compared to Pep but even I can see that. Look at Rodri.
Kova for me is just coming good for us, finding his mojo for us, let's give Nunes a chance to find his instead of blatantly condemning the lad. He's a City player now, let's support him.

His quality and what he is good at is obvious.

Just need to give him time to understand what is needed foe our system and develop chemistry.

This year is all abouy that for me, will never completely discount him if he has a bad game.

I think he will be great for us next year.

Nunes does far more right than he does wrong.

Lost the ball too easily a couple of times but makes some really good runs. He was our third or fourth choice (I think?) signning for that position and was brought in as an extra body, so with Kovacic doing well, Rodri fit and firing and kev back I don't see any need to put too much pressure or expect too much from him. I think we should just be patient with this one for now

Was outstanding yesterday. You could see he was hanging back on occasions looking to get into the box late, made great runs to create space for other team mates and forced chances by holding onto the ball turning around on a spot and creating the overload that forced a goal.

He's not a Rodri replacement, he either plays next to him or ahead of him as an attacking midfielder. He's far too good in the final third to play as CDM.

Ex mid table prem player does well against lower championship side. Nothing new learnt really. Let's see how he does against good sides. Will probably have a better idea next season.
