What point ? The others also gave pens away. If Pep is reluctant on punishing others but only does it to certain players . What does this tell us? Gundogan is horrible and is still playing . Why leave out the current better player ? If that’s true to done extent it’s a joke and Pep fucked up himself. Nunes should be the last one right now to get punished for any mistakes.
 
If he's fit he had to start, been our best attacker by a distance, I'm going to assume he's simply not fully fit as there's surely no way he doesn't feature at all today after being the only midfielder with anything resembling form.

He's the best option we have left midfield and I fail to see how he cannot be a better option than anything else in central midfield either. Needs to be in the side.
 
still cannot get over that we targeted Bellingham, he opted for Real, we put in a bid for Rice, he opted for Arsenal, we then almost signed Paqueta if not his betting scandal, ad then we decided on Nunes who spent a year on the bench and now was used sparingly as a left winger albeit rarely played as winger in Sporting and Wolves imo.

would we have played Paqueta, Rice or Bellingham as a left winger? we identified a midfield issue to solve with these guys, then opted for something else (Nunes) and used him elsewhere.

Just get rid in January. Line some swap deals up. He clearly isn’t good enough and his Lisbon 2nd half performance was dreadful,

Pep clearly doesn’t trust him in the middle and after some of his cameo’s in that role since we signed him, you can see why.

Total waste of money.
 
Not a big fan of his. However, just as I was finally warming to him, and the squad is shot to fcuk, he’s glued to the bench in favour of crocks, struggling kids and geriatrics.

You've made your own reality there. We didn't sign him to solve an issue in midfield, we were perfectly happy to go into the season as we were, without him. We signed him very late in the window as what we saw as an opportunistic signing when we learned wolves had to sell players before the deadline. We had a long standing interest in him, saw we could get him in for a price we were comfortable with and had the space in the squad to accomodate him. It wasn't nunes over any of those players or over anybody else it was him or nothing, not unlike gundo coming back in this summer.

Him being here also hasn't stopped us bringing anybody else in since, the squad still isn't full and we've banked hundreds of millions so neither numbers or money are a stumbling block.
 
Gündoğan and Lewis have been hopeless in midfield. Nunes improved somewhat in the last month and looked to be gaining confidence. He’s got a bit of pace and he’s actually a midfielder, so let’s play him in midfield.

He simply cannot be less impactful than Gundo and Lewis. He can’t be. They’ve done absolutely nothing for weeks.

Get Nunues in this side in midfield.

True, I was actually shocked that we signed him as I never rated him at Wolves. But most of our midfielders are Wolves’ level at the moment. In fact, Joao Gomes would walk into our midfield at the moment, I don’t think Lewis and Gundo would get in Wolves midfield ahead of Gomes or Andre.

Surely Nunes has got more about him or something a bit different than those currently playing?

Something drastic needs to happen in midfield. We need to play Nunes and Grealish or something and try something different with fresh legs and fresh ideas.
 
Amazed Pep dropped him. A bit disappointing really given he’s been the brightest spark over the past months or so.

I wish Pep would try him at right back. He’s got the athleticism to get up and down the wing, is rapid and will put a foot in too. Plus if that tactic from yesterday (high wing backs) is going to continue then why not have somebody who is capable of a good cross/pass/movement/shot utilising the position as opposed to Walker?! He can’t be any worse than captain dud who’s there right now.

If not right back then midfield. Just energy somewhere in the pitch.
 
don't understand why Pep does not play him, he was one of the better performers last month, and Pep does not seem to fancy him.
 


We haven’t seen any of this kind of thing from Gündoğan or Lewis this season. Sprinting back to win the ball near our box and ten seconds later winning a corner up the other end.

Get him in the team in midfield, he can’t do any worse.
 
If ever there is a time to make a name for your self at this club it's now. Pep's just got to play the lad. It's not like he could be any worse than those playing in the middle for us. I would start him as DM in both games this week simply because he is faster than most and can tackle. Must be worth a try at least.
