He played the last game in midfield.

What does Pep do?

Back to the wing you go.

Peps treatment of players like this does more harm than good.

Just let him be in midfield and add legs.

Nunes neither adds legs nor commitment lacking desire without offering any creativity or goal threat. Time to go.
ps. I forgot to mention his lack of positional awareness. Clearly I am not a fan.

Glaringly obvious he's not for us. Problem is we're stuck with what we've got.
Hate to see a player so exposed in limited ability but he's been an awful buy.

Not mentally weak but was too wound up and Pep saved us from going down to 10 men by substituting him at the correct time.

Pep doesn't believe his possession retaining skills are good enough, that's the only reason why he doesn't play in midfield except against weaker CL teams, Gundogan, Lewis and Silva keep the ball better even though they do absolutely fuck all with it and can't defend to save their lives, Nunes does have some pace to track back like we saw with that tackle in the second half, and he is also a far more powerful runner with the ball as we saw against Feyenoord, but that doesn't matter because Pep doesn't trust him with the ball.

The question is why doesn't Pep play two of Lewis/Gundo/Silva with Nunes so you could have a bit more balance in midfield ? why insist on playing all three when it's obviously not working ? I'm not saying it will work but we haven't seen it at all in the PL, surely it's worth a try ?

When he showed up with gloves on it just summed him up.

An utterly pointless signing.
Yep have to agree, after trying to defend him for most of last season.

The optics are just wrong with him. He looks moany, and the whole gloves thing when it's 10 degrees outside is just weird.

One of a good few bad buys over the last few years, and when you've got a very small squad you can't afford to get too many wrong.

People here expect a CM to be a top class winger out of nowhere it’s hilarious at this point.

Awful today. Terrible 1st touch. Has a bit of pace but that’s about it
Yeah well he's not a winger and that pace saved us from conceding a second goal at the start of the second half, I feel like we need that recovery pace in midfield despite his limitations but Pep thinks otherwise.

That’s all he has. He’s turd and the weird efforts of some to suggest he’s a talent waiting to explode is laughable. He is Scott Sinclair level signing.

Pretty sure the people bashing him here said the same thing about Alvarez when he was played on the wing at Anfield last season and looked terrible, I'm not going to say shit about him until Pep tries him in his natural position in a league game.
