Ortega doesnt want to be a backup.

But he isnt good enough as the 1st choice.

Thats the problem.

Im totally happy with keeping Eddie as the starter going forward because even if he lacks in some areas, games like Newcastle showed how vital his style is to Pep.

And Ortega will never be able to do that.

If Eddie adamantly wants to leave as well, then we need 2 keepers in the summer.

True although Ortega stayed when there was solid interest from Bayern. Ortega can't be first choice so if he wants to be the main man he will have to go. Ederson can stay if he actually wants to be here, he hasn't looked happy this season. What he lacks in keeping goal, he makes up with games like Saturday. It will be an interesting summer

yeah. saw today that he conceded 17!! goals in 7 champions league games.

unfortunately both keepers havent been great this season. one has to go in the summer. probably ortega.
Unfortunately no team has 2 top goalkeepers in their squad…..second choice usually well below the standard of the first but in Ortegas case he’s probably 20% below Eddy’s capabilities

He is on no where near 200k a week.

The money on offer from Saudi is eye watering, a game changer for him, his family, his friends and half of the favela where he came from.

The guy has won the lot, don't forget it must be incredible difficult for a boy from Brazil to live in a cold northern city for the last 8 years, in Saudi at least he gets back to the sun, semi retirement and he leaves a multi millionaire, good luck to him.
Don’t think he’s a pauper…….evert regular starter should have a few £million in his post office account

He's not a pauper, but the difference from earning 150k a week to 400k a week tax free is enormous and I don't think any single one of us on here has any right to question him, even more so when he has won everything in the last 8 years.

He's not a City fan, he is a pro footballer from South America and the chance to go and work and go into semi-retirement while quadrupling your wages is obviously something that would be difficult to turn down for anyone of us.

Stuck in no-mans land again. Think he's been told he's got to sweep the through balls because of our lack of pace at the back, so he's taking high starting positions. Needs to drop into a proper position if he doesn't sweep though.

Sweeping against that front 3 with the high line we play in front of him is just foolish. Either commit earlier or don't commit at all.

Genuinely astounding so many people still don't seem to understand we play with a sweeper or don't understand what that means. Ederson was in the correct position for their first goal, he's literally under instructions to be there. him being in no man's land after Dias' massive fuck up is a consequence of the system. The idea is Dias's doesn't act like a Sunday league defender and he's there to mop up if it's ahead of mbappe or Dias knocks it back to him. No chance with any of the goals and kept the scoreline down with a few really good saves.
