Can we have a full refund? Not sure but I can put it this way, I felt he was as important to us as Grealish was to Villa at the time. I’d still take him back tomorrow.

Unfortunately we need about 6 other players so we probably can’t and won’t pay that. Can we have a full refund?
Worth noting that before Bielsa we didn’t think he’d make it at Championship level. Don’t know if that’s a lesson of patience or a sign that he has absolutely no chance of making it here.I think there is a lot of negativity around kalvin at the moments. His issues of his shoulder injury compounded with the break for the world cup has esentially put him in preseason in the middle of the actual season.
He worked under bielsa who requried tempo and fitness so because of the above has resulted in him not playing as much hes going to obvioulsly require game time to get back to his best and in rhythm. I think some have short memories because i remember rodri getting slammed and told to get rid because he wasnt dinho but he got given the time to show us his best i think we should award kalvin the same opportunity.
we know from experience it take a year plus for midfielders to get to grip with the role pep wants them to play. Kalvin has come in to be back up. Seem some say dias and akanji struggled with knowing where is he. That relationship only builds with game time.
I prefer to judge him during his second season but i guess hes becoming the new whipping boy because jacks now playing well.
However he does need to improve and i think he will. Hes played 3 games from what i remember. The southampton game everyone was a shit show including our senior members. Yesterday was booked early on. I remember the chelsea carabo cup game where he got time he didnt look out of place that game.
I’m happy to give him a bit more time but afraid he’s shown very little so far to convince me he’s anywhere near City’s level.I think there is a lot of negativity around kalvin at the moments. i get that but he hasnt had the time has he thats my issue hes getting written off as not good enough. I felk ake got simular treatement because of his injuries and people thought we wasted 40 million there. I do think he will fit in i think its just a shame that because of injuries hes esentially at preseason again. I dont think its helped his case that we havent been winning games convincenly recently so pep cant take the risk of taking rodri off to give kalvin the time to learn to play with us.I’m happy to give him a bit more time but afraid he’s shown very little so far to convince me he’s anywhere near City’s level.
This is probably around the right mark. It's not fair to write him off just yet, but we can only judge him on what we've seen, and if what we've seen isn't good enough then why not say it? If Kalvin Phillips deserves more time then how can the same not be said for Sergio Gomez? The reality is that both look to be short of the standard required. What worries me most about Phillips is just how far he looks off the pace. I understand why he might be rusty and things like passing can be off in such circumstances. To me, however, I saw a lack of application and a bit of a half-arsed attitude. He needs to improve mentally, physically and technically to make it with City. We shall see.I’m happy to give him a bit more time but afraid he’s shown very little so far to convince me he’s anywhere near City’s level.
