Hope he's not tired, he's not used to playing that many minutes :)
How would we convince Lavia to come back.I'd move him on now and try to convince Lavia to come back.
Well we could start with "you'll be playing football in the best team in the world!"How would we convince Lavia to come back.
Other teams will be as intetested
Lavia would get not far off the amount of minutes Phillips has this season. Not happening when the rest of the top 6 can offer him a starting spot straight away.Well we could start with "you'll be playing football in the best team in the world!"
I don't know really but maybe Kev can have a word.
He's still young and won't be playing every game but he would definitely get a lot of minutes and adding another young talent like him would be invaluable to our squad.
Totally agree, that's a good summary, especially the lack of trust. He really is a strange one as he looked promising for Leeds and certainly looked decent enough for England.
Rodri is the best defensive midfielder in the world I think and is probably the first name on the team sheet. It's almost impossible to drop him, but Phillips isn't even getting the odd game. There's things going on behind the scenes I suspect, probably attitude. There's no way that Pep wants to run Rodri into the ground given he is one of our most important players.
I just think he probably just needs to move on to a club where he will play. He's just not playing and to be honest, if Pep isn't playing him it's because he doesn't trust him.
Personally, I'd sell him in summer. He doesn't offer us anything and it's hard to see him improving. He should go to Everton/etc and play every week and charge about a lot.
The vast majority of players who have signed for us under Pep have needed a season to adjust to the demands not only physically but technically. The lad is an England international who had a tough start to the season when he got injured and that has taken its toil, however he looks happy to be part of the squad, he is a superb passer of the ball, possibly got a better range than Rodri but not Rodri's instincts for for nullifying counter attacks. What he lacks is what Pep coaches, he makes very good players better. I hope he stays and proves the naysayers wrong, Mahrez did, Grealish did, Gundogan did, as have others. He really is a strange one as he looked promising for Leeds and certainly looked decent enough for England.

I hope you're right but I think he will be moved on. He's just not even being used to rest Rodri even when we've got big games where we absolutely need him.The vast majority of players who have signed for us under Pep have needed a season to adjust to the demands not only physically but technically. He may move on, but he will be a better player for the experience of training with one of the best teams in the world.
Strange he is not, he has struggled like many before him when they join the best team in the world.
