I am convinced Foden is going to have a stela season with City. There is absolutely no way he will not push further on massively in his game like he did last season.

He is very close to becoming one of the first names on Peps team sheet with KDB, if and when that happens I'm predicting 25 goals and 20 assists all competitions.

Southgate would be a complete fool then to persist in playing anybody over Foden.
In what position ?

When you see Phil play the way he did last night, I know it’s only Andorra, it’s almost as if he’s two players in one. Last night he played like Glen Hoddle, spraying passes all over the place and at Klanfield he was like Paul Gascogne. He really is an amazing talent.
Was thinking just the same. Prime Hoddle I might add.

Great player but the main reason why Pep wouldn’t want him near one of his sides that’s what.
Some people may view Haaland as very arrogant/big headed twat but I don't think that will stop City being interested.

Harland isn‘t as much of a dick head as Mbappe. It’s probably a moot point as I don’t see City signing either, not for the money that would be required in Haarland‘s case to secure a transfer.

He won’t get to play like that for us yet; Guardiola would sub him for not playing 4 simple 5 yard passes, where one longer one is sufficient, to get the ball to the same destination.

He’s like a hybrid of Scholes and Giggs, with a higher ceiling than both. For the time being, I’d leave him on the left wing, because it’s the one role in our current system that allows him to express himself, and utilise his goalscoring ability; long term when the Pep shackles are off and we play more expansive, instinctive football he could become a top class central midfield player.
wtf?

I think Phil will rotate between inside and outside left depending upon the opposition.
I think in a couple of years Phil will have license to play where he wants, but like Messi. He is that talented. ‘Just give it to Phil’ springs to mind.
Hopefully Another couple of academy boys taking the step too. Not being greedy

It was but his execution of passes was incredible. Yes he wouldn’t get time on the ball against better quality but the accuracy of his passing was insane.

It was a great performance. International football is rarely played at a flat out pace anyway so he probably would get that time. And if he's pressed he's got so much magic to get out of those situations and keep the ball anyway. He simply has to play centrally for England. We've got two defensive players in Philipps and Rice who can run all day. Rice can play box to box and both can pass it about, but the vision and ability of Foden just would elevate England to a completely different level.

We have plenty of wide forwards and attacking talent so Phil needs to be the man in the middle pulling the strings.

For City he can stay wide left for now, but I agree with the poster who said he'll evolve into the key man who the team look to get the ball to in order to make things happen.

like Messi. He is that talented.

Sometimes I wonder if some people have ever actually watched Messi?

I love Phil, but he's not as talented as Messi, there might not be another person that talented for 30 or 40 years.

It's an unnecessary comparison that set ridiculous expectation the kid is never going to live up to.
