Anfield last year
Alisson made a mistake and put himself in a wrong position. Thus Foden had the angle to shoot and it was a clever one.

But for today and many other occasions when the keeper holds a good position, squaring it is a better option for a left footed player at that position. It is very basic rule. Keep an eye on the keeper, if the keeper does not make a mistake, pass it if a teammate is at a better position.

I like Foden I really do but I see a problem with him and Haaland if he keeps being so selfish.

He doesn’t seem to understand that he is not the main striker and to pass when he is in tight positions.

Jack does that all the time but is not as naturally talented as Phil so has less opportunities.

Foden needs…….A GOOD KICK UP THE ARSE……A CLUB FINE…….
unless he passes to a vastly superior player.
If he doesn’t like it …….he can go on loan to….Girona.

Hes finishing seemed to be one of his strengths when he came through, not sure what's happened to him.

Once again had his head down and wasnt aware, he HAS to pass that ball again.

whisper it quietly, but he’s not improving like we though he might. At 22 Messi was winning the Balon D’or
He's not in the same universe as Messi as a player but then, neither is anyone else playing the game today.
He's done brilliantly to make it at City & become an important member of our squad.
Hopefully he can now kick on, keep improving & become the player we all hoped he would

That’s not a hard ball.

To be fair, this picture is slightly misleading. His standing foot isn't planted at this point and Schar (or whoever it is) closes that space ever so slightly.

I agree that it's what he should have done but, at the same time, it still wasn't as simple as people are making out.
