phil fodens first touch has been poor recently imo .must be difficult playing with the maverick cancelo behind you as well
 
He just looks unsure like Grealish. Pep must of told them to concentrate on ball retention rather than running at players
 
Seems a lot of people seen their arse over the Ashley Young thing. He still looked pretty quick to me and he can defend - as shown when he took it off de bruyne

They just don’t understand the game and how Pep wants his player to play, If they don’t see it or want to learn they pretty ignorant..

You cannot do much when your fullback usually does not bother to position supporting you either overlapping or protect from behind - but occupy the space you would like to cut in.

Grealish used to be the most bombing forward attacker in his last year at Villa. He was actually quite forward driven when he paired with Zinny in rare occasions in last season.

The same Cancelo-left-back effect now applies to Foden as well.

Cancelo as a left back cannot bring out the brightest thing from the winger. Too much himself.

Pep is scarifying our two left wingers to satisfy the inverted full back experiment.

That’s probably not helping but he got the ball plenty of times one on one and never attacked the fullback. It’s obvious he’s under instructions to just keep the ball bug it’s severely limited his undoubted talents

Several times I saw the fullback and our other defenders not in the protecting position behind Foden when he got the ball. I guess that it is why he does not dare to attack.

I just don't think the current system can bring the best form of our forwards out. Our midfieders and defenders benefits more but wingers (both left and right) sacrifice too much.

Maybe but i think one on one against 37 year old ex winger stout he opposition box it’s absolutely ridiculous for our winger to not attack him. No matter who is giving those instructions

I’ve completely come off Twitter full stop. You can block as many arse holes on there as you want but more just come up.

It really is the pits.
 
You're probably right. Let's see if he is back to his maverick self when he next plays for England.
