Wish he'd turn up in the big games.

Has all the skill in the world but doesn't do much of it when we need it.

Had one good shot but needs to make something happen rather than just passing sideways.

He is getting to that age now where he has to stop being a bipolar footballer. You cannot expect to be a regular at City long term if one week you are an 8 and the next a 4.

Players like Bernardo and David Silva before him are at the level they are at because you know you are getting a 7 out of 10 pretty much the majority of the time. Yes, you they can have a bad game every now and again but there is consistency over a season.

I just feel with Phil, it's always a good run of 4 matches, poor for 3, great for 5, then poor for 2 etc etc... That's Europa League level consistency, not elite CL player, which is where he should be with his ability.

Really hope he is able to pick up the consistency, and start to influence games more often than not.

We can't be having these same debates about him in 2 or 3 years time.

Worst performance for a good while today. No real impact in attack but also getting the basics wrong far too often. One of those days. If we had literally anybody else he would have been hooked not long after halftime. Desperate for a mahrez today.

Perhaps the lack of competition in the squad due to numbers has blunted the edge of a few of our players.
