That's a great idea, I'm sure Pep or Phil hadn't thought of such a revolutionary answer
Sarcasm your strong point, is it ? Pep can't ask Kane though can he. Anyway, why does Pep have to think of it though. Why can't Foden take it on his own back to do it himself ? If he already has, good on him.

Hoping this is the season where he gets the accolade's he deserves. A standout season, playing in the middle or wide when needed and finding that consistency needed. Mixing the simple, efficient passing that Pep wants, with those dazzling turns and bursts forward that we see from him. He's got all the ability to develop over this season and become one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.

The only problem with Foden is every time he comes back from international duties it takes him about three weeks to shake off the influence of Waistcoat.

You honestly think that an attacking midfield player still learning the game doesn't watch and pick up on all the things senior pro's do?

He won't, but I'd like to see him withdraw from the next England squad to focus on his form for City. He hasn't really performed for England to be honest. He gets put out wide, but he's never going to do what Saka or Rashford do and try and dribble past players, he wants it when there are two or three around him so he can twist and turn and create his own space. But he doesn't get the ball in those situations because only the other City players would dare play that sort of pass. So he's either benched or doesn't do much and it's probably incredibly demoralising for him.

And despite Southgate being happy to try Saka at wing back or Walker as a CB despite them rarely doing so for their clubs, Foden's not trusted in the middle because he doesn't play there for his club.

No point going until he's made himself a clear CM candidate. Rice, Foden and Bellingham in CM is the best combination for England. Get Stones tucking into the DM role from CB with Walker covering as he would for City. But we aren't going to see that!

I think we're fast reaching where the point where Foden becomes a regular 10 goal a season player without ever imposing himself on a regular specific position
He'll never quite be that silky playmaker or tricky winger, but I recall plenty of people saying something similar about Gundogan who didn't turn out too bad.

A silky playmaker is literally what he is imo.
