To be fair his goal record is really good, so it’s not done much harm

It is the way he shoots and this discourse around him being a poor finisher is bizarre and factually wrong. As you said, his goal return is borderline elite. Is he possibly in a bit of a slump? I think that's a more viable argument but even then poor finishers don't outperform their xG over however many years he's been with the first team.

I think Pep just likes to keep Alvarez happy. Alvarez will probably start on the bench at Burnley and Foden will start.
