If we don't concede an inch perfect cutback and ridiculously hard strike that one decision is completely forgotten. Stones has been our best defender by some distance so far this season.
Simply not true. John is not on his best level.

Stones is a fan favorite, and people give him slack that would never be given to people like Mahrez or even KDB. It doesn't matter how well you play; a defender main job is to be focused and avoid stupid mistakes. He did awful on the goal.
- An easy header to Ederson and there is no goal.
- Once he decided to head it away you HAVE TO head it to the sides, not to the fucking center.

Those are two amateur mistakes, and an elite defender cannot make those type of things

He's not quite up to speed yet but I fancy him and Dias to sew up that back line for a while again. He's still out best passer out

He made half a mistake, which we could have rectified before they scored.

I doubt any footballer has ever had a faultless display in the history of the game.

Stones will be disappointed with himself when he sees it back. He obviously didn’t see the picture at the time and all he can do is learn from it and not do the same again, if possible.

This doesn’t make him an amateur, or any other hyperbolic adjective you want to choose.

Our forwards and midfielders made more mistakes today than our defence. That’s why we drew.

Half a mistake? Again, when you are a defender, you always clear away to the sides. That's basic stuff, and the main job of a defender and GK is to avoid stupid and amateur mistakes. Clearly Stones is a great footballer, but his focus is not that great.

A mistake from a forward or MC cannot be compared to Stones mistakes. Any MC and forward has to have 5 times the number of mistakes of a defender, and if they don't, they are probably playing too safe.

We drew because of Stones mistake, just like Rodri did a stupid mistake before. Forwards will fail goals, but I don't think anyone fail a super easy goal, but again, defenders must keep the focus and the basics at all times. The best defenders are not the ones with more class, or the best passers, or the ones who make everything seem easy, but the ones who very rarely lose focus and make mistakes.
