Nice little cameo. One of his better ones. Looked lively. Only worry for me is that when you look at our remaining fixtures, is he really gonna get more than half an hour or so of football before the season ends?

Obviously he won't play against Arsenal or Madrid, and I don't think Pep will be turning to him for any close league games when we need to pretty much win them all. Maybe if we're 3 or 4 up, he comes on, but that's pretty much it.

Think he's gonna have to get game time elsewhere next year. He hasn't had that Phil-like break into the first team, just shows nice glimpses here and there in games that are almost always already over. Talented lad but he's gotta play more football than this.

He needs to play more games out wide before he can play in the middle, but he has such a languid style and deceptive acceleration over a few yards that he could become a major threat. Defenders have absolutely no idea which way he'll go and nor do spectators. With Mahrez and Grealish, you always have a rough idea of what they'll do next, but Palmer is completely different. You think he's boxed himself in and are about to get annoyed with him, but then, hey presto, he's off with the ball and the defender is sat on his backside. Far too talented to loan elsewhere.

Was ridiculously throwing his toys out the pram when Mahrez didn't pass to him because he was far too narrow. Needs to do a lot more homework and he is 21 next month?

I think a good pre season in his natural position on the right and I think we will have a good player on our hands. Mahrez won’t be around for ever and he feels like a natural replacement without blowing crazy money.

I agree, wide right is his best/preferred position and he hasn't really been given a chance there.

Pep played him as a false nine againts Everton last season and he was excellent too, he justs needs games to build confidence, if he's not guaranteed them next season a loan could be good for him.

Had a great little spell coming on this evening.

Doesn’t need a loan away IMO, just increase his playing time by a fair bit next season, and then by a lot in the following one.

He clearly has everything to succeed here, just give him time.

Our system is based on having good 1v1 wingers and he clearly has that ability, can pick out a pass, and is learning to just recycle possession to slow things down.

Now... if only Pep plays him RW then we will see an even better him. Mahrez is 32 after all...
