Maybe the answer is to have him wide in a 3

Carragher (of all people) said last season that he didn’t think Haaland would make any difference to how many goals we score over a season. He was right, although it could end up being less.0 goals at Liverpool, United, Chelsea and Spurs. Easy to blame the other players.
Last season, we had more goals after 21 PL games than this season. We were creating more chances and we were more solid in defence. Maybe Haaland has come in a transitional period. Next season will show whether he can make us better. It's quite obvious though that there's a lot, lot more to scoring goals as a team than having the best finisher(s) up front.
He makes about a dozen runs a game where he wants it played into space down the channels to run onto and is ignored. He will outpace every single defender in the world if he has the ball into space to run onto.Do you really think Grealish, Mahrez, KDB, Bernado etc , some of the best players in the league wouldn’t pass to Haaland if they could. He spends too much time down the middle, gets marked out of the game, leaving no space for others to run into.
When we had no striker we had goals throughout the side. Defenders had no one to mark and the movement across the front six was impossible to contain.
Haaland is without doubt a great striker but we are a worse team with him.
I think Alvarez is a better bet for us long term.
His quality in front of goal could well be the difference in the tight later stages of the CL. The question is, will we supply him when it matters?Carragher (of all people) said last season that he didn’t think Haaland would make any difference to how many goals we score over a season. He was right, although it could end up being less.
However, I think we are more likely to win the CL with him.
There is though but we don’t play the early pass. There was a few times at old trafford and there was at least 3 times today. It was pretty clear to see and the commentators pointed it out.The trouble is there isnt any space for him to run into. The defences sit so deep.
Plenty of opportunities existed today where the ball wasn't played into him. Its crazyThe trouble is there isnt any space for him to run into. The defences sit so deep.
but it was a question for some time how do we solve that they all want to play and all had expiring contracts in 2023, so we decided to renew with Mahrez and sell Sterling/Jesus, not sure that was a clever move really.
also we bought in Grealish who we didnt really need which also caused Sterling and Jesus game time more limited as Grealish did not replace anyone at first(in the sense of one in, one out)
That’s on Pep.He makes about a dozen runs a game where he wants it played into space down the channels to run onto and is ignored. He will outpace every single defender in the world if he has the ball into space to run onto.
If I were him, I’d be thinking about fcuking off to a club that knows how to set up for his strengths. He must have expected better than this when he joined.
That’s on Pep.
You could screen shot 50+ of these through the season that we haven’t played in for Haaland. Unacceptable from our players. Just what the fuck are they playing at?Players should have more trust in themselves and at least TRY to give Haaland these balls...
Haaland vs goalkeeper is VERY VERY likely to score, so sometimes it's worth trying more difficult passes. Safe passes the whole game makes sense while using false 9, City now have a proper finisher...
