An amazing post.

Posts such as this should go into a hall of infamy in a the classic threads section.

Have seen a few over the last few years saying KDB was past his best and should be sold.

Not to pile on him but I remember Marvin saying Aguero was finished about 5 years before he actually was.
I have considered collecting the worst offenders and doing an end of season review, maybe taking out the usernames, but it feels a bit petty.

Those comparisons with Darwin Nunez that the neutrals were making have gone awfully quiet all of a sudden.....
Ah, but the comparison continued when Nunez rightly got a three matcher and Erling was being crow-barred into the same for some innocuous contact and that incident, presumably where the Palace defender came from behind him, bent his head down and headed our man's foot.

Lifted off the caff.....

Whats happened to Marvin nowadays ?

As a Darwin Nunez fan it pisses me off royally.

He has had 1 good season, then those shitheads panic buy and throw 100m at Benfica because we got Haaland, and now he has been thrust into a "rivalry" he didn't ask for.

Nunez is going to be written off as a failure if he doesn't keep track with a guy who right now is minimum top 3 striker in the world because Liverpool fans want their own Haaland.

What really encouraged me yesterday is that he didn't need 2/3 chances to finally bag one. As soon as he got his first proper sight of goal, he buried it. 3 goals from 16 touches (or whatever it was) is exactly the kind of stat we should be very excited about.

Wasteful. I'm not getting carried away until he's got it down to one touch, one goal

If Pep had got his wish it could have been so different,

I honestly think that if Pep had got his way, we'd be watching both Haaland and Kane, with Alvarez away on loan.
There's much to Kane's game than just goals that Pep would probably admire imo.

Water under the bridge of course, and it will be interesting to see how Alvarez develops over the next year or two.

He is physically unique. That's what sets him apart. He reminds me of Jonah Lomu and Usain Bolt when they came along and were physically superior to their competitors. We've had big 6 foot 4 target men before but none have had the sheer pace that Haaland has. Accompany that with being deadly in front of goal and you've got a monster on your hands.

Yeah

Remember when Bolt come along, sprinting coaches were all looking for tall sprinters with that kind of foot speed, but they’re not easy to find, hence why he’s been a one off. 13 years later and the records still stand.

Wouldn’t surprise me if soon more football coaches and scouts are looking for Haaland’s physical attributes and trying to mould him into a striker. But as I said, these people are rare, that’s why they are who they are.

I work with a lot of amateur boxing setups, and In recent years they’ve often been looking for huge lads like Tyson Fury but with his level of coordination. In the 80s, 90s and after there has been fighters of that similar size, but there’s never really been one of that height and weight with that natural boxing coordination that he has, coupled with that size. They just don’t come along.

Haaland is arguably going to be like that. You might find other kids with some of the attributes but it’s the whole package that makes them a bit of an anomaly.

To be honest, most scouts have been looking for Haaland's all their lives. It's just that only one exists.

Big, fast kids are picked up by clubs all the time. But as you say, he's an anomaly.
