Adam Johnson: Joining Manchester City is bad for your career

Sounds like he couldnt stop himself from even goin out on the piss. Hardly looks good when a player moans about not being picked but is then seen out on the lash the same night. It sounds to me like if he really wanted to progress he could have done but didnt get his head down enough.

Never rated him,20 minute player at most good riddance, maybe if you would of pulled your weight Adam, you might of started a few more games.

he's sooooo wanted at Sunderland yet in 5 prem games he's made 2 appearances scoring 0 goals. Well done Adam keep it going

I'm sure someone already noticed that he said two different opinions about same thing in one interview, lol.

First he wouldn't go to City as young player than even if not playing it's good to be young player there as you learn a lot from big players.

STFU Adam

"If I look back to two and a half years ago, when I signed, I would do the same again. I would still have the medals"

lol, yes

I thought I was the only one who noticed his contradictory statements.. Very odd..

All the best to him - we move on and hope he has a miserable game today :)

"Part of me would like to in front of certain parts though."

Looks like we could have a Tevez/Fergie situation tomorrow if Johnson scores. Keep him quiet for 30 minutes and he'll run out of stamina anyway, the arrogant knob.

I hadn't realised he'd got any stick while on the pitch to say this.

overated, piss can who i never rated.keep talking johnson.another player who believes he is better than what he is.

That's unfair, he's not bad mouthed the club, he'd just reached a stage when he wanted to play every week. Mancini speaks highly of him and wishes him well and we should do the same.

Today being the exception.

I'm not too bothered about his comments. When Johnson came to City he looked dead good, getting at full backs, linking well and scoring. But he fell foul to the lifestyle choices he made and this had a negative effect on his game.
Mancini didn't like it and he soon found himself on the fringes of the team. When he was played, he didn't play particularly well. So, he was moved on.
However, I can understand him feeling a bit let down and probably wonders where it all went wrong. Maybe he should look a bit closer to home before criticising Mancini's attitude?

“It is excellent when a club like City come for you. Hard to turn down. But you don’t actually play for the champions - you’re a squad member, which is totally different.

"It’s not that you’re not good enough, it’s just that the likes of Yaya Toure are going to play ahead of you, no matter what you do.”

No Adam, it is whether you're good enough. For example Eden Hazard would be starting nearly every week for us right now and is only 21. Johnson simply wasn't good enough, the potential was there but HE never developed enough to go from squad player to regular first teamer.

Also Nastasic appears to be ripping Johnson's theory to shreds right now. 19 and Mancini is trying to make him first choice CB.

Word for word exactly what I thought when I read that.

Are these new quotes though? Either he has a habit of repeating himself or these feel eerily familiar?
