Adam Johnson

He just doesn't score goals. Stats as far as passing and dribbles are concerned are always skewed for wingers. Every time completes a switch its a completed pass. The stats I look at are goal production. And nothing seems to point to the fact that AJ will ever have 10-15 goal year. He just doesn't have enough flair to really get the job done like he did for Boro.

Think AJ does a job and it's early season but technically and seeing a pass when he needs to, is not there at the moment! he needs to improve because our team has and he hasn't he's a great squad player, but I can see someone else coming in for that position And then AJ will stay as a squad player or he will want to leave for first team football

Think he is going to improve a lot as the season goes on. As long as we stay in the champions league then he will get plenty of match time and this will help his game. My view is plenty of potential but nowhere near as polished as many of the other stars that we have in the creative department.....things can change though and I would love to see him shine :)

Apart from the odd decent pass and move, he was poor today imo. Everyone round me wanted him changing for Balo at HT. He has no pace and whilst i agree he is a great impact player to bring on towards the end of a game to take on tired full backs, i think our forward players are now in a different class than Adam.

Strange how so many English players struggle to progress past a certain level. I'm a fan but IMO he was better when he joined us than now - I really believe that bad injury he got last season has affected him in some way, he can't get around players as easily now and also lacks the same hunger he had when he was a new kid from the Championship eager to prove himself. Hope he can step up.

I don't think he's worse, he just doesnt stand out as much because we've got better, faster, sharper, whereas we were more pedestrian last year. He would rip through most championship sides.
